The nurses were very helpful when I was explaining I had new Insurance. They said they would take care of it. My wait was not too long after I was waiting for the doctor, he was amazing. I felt relieved after meeting him and confident he will take care of me during my procedure.

Was referred to Doctor Lal by my GP.It was uncomplicated to make an appointment. His clerical staff were clear and precise on what I needed, that forms could be sent via email or I could arrive 15 mins early to complete them- my choice. This was easy and without issue.His assistances were very pleasant as they went over detail and reviewed my information before I met Doctor Lal.Doctor Lal was very personable and put me at ease.He had clearly reviewed the information about why my GP make the recommendation, suggested an active treatment plan, why it was a good fit, and welcomed any questioned.I felt like this was someone who, had indeed, taken the time, to review rather than just scan the Clift Note version as he walked in- which increased my trust as I felt valuedHe appreciated that I was nervous and I found him to be reassuring and calming. He seemed very genuine and kind.Two same-day, outpatient procedures were set after and I am confidant in both his skill and his attention to detail, I am in the best hands.When I left, the lady who scheduled was able to do so with both detailed paperwork, instructions, sent medications to my pharmacy for pick well before the date, and allowed me to pick a date which was not long but not quick- so that I could mentally prepare as it was a bit overwhelming.Side note: The office was very tastefully decorated, clean, didnt have any glaring television sounds, or harsh lighting. There seemed to be a small fridge that had water which was a thoughtful consideration though I didnt partake.I didnt use the restroom within this section, I did use the downstairs water closet which was tidy and well stocked.The office building in which this doctors office is located is nice and my GP used to also belong within a practice housed here.I have had my procedures and will be receiving a completed update next week. Tentatively, things look good and I am relieved.I would highly recommend this physician.Cant think of anything negative other than I found myself to be afraid of the possibilities.He helped me take a deep breath and step forward, with confidence, which made it easier for me to do what I needed to for my health.This, to me, shows he is a healer in more than one way- which is a gift. ☺️

Dr. Lal was very professional in the delivery of my husbands care, gave us very clear instructions on what must be done in order to improve his symptoms and was very thorough in the time he took with explaining it all to us. His knowledge, skills, and compassion are unmatched. Highly recommend.

Dr. Lal the PA McDonald are amazing. Not only am I listened to when I went to my appointment, they helped me come up with a plan for my medical issues. We also came up with a backup plan if this treatment happens not to work. They really take the time to listen and not rush you in and out. Dr. Lal has been my GI physician for many years. His service is above any other specialist. He is is thorough, empathetic and attentive. He puts the well being of his patient first. The staff that he employs dont treat you like a number. They actually get to know you. They feel like extended family.

This was my first visit to Dr. Lal. He is not only a good physician but very caring and thorough. I feel I am in good hands.

Staff is nice.My experience was a self referral. I made an appointment online for 12/21/23. I called the office to confirm. I was told initial visits are different and take more time. Seems completely logical. I was then rescheduled to 1/3/24. My 1/3/24 appointment was with a NP. The original appointment was rescheduled for Dr.Lal. The NP never placed hands on my abdominal area. I told her all previous records were with another Dr. Her assessment was to schedule a couple procedures. The earliest the procedures could only be scheduled was 3/19/24. Three months after me scheduling an online appointment. No bloodwork or tests were ordered. The visit could have been done by a scheduler. The following week I messaged on 3/28/23 about seeing results on their portal. I got a call and asked if I could come in the next day. I did and met with Dr. Lal. He said he was going to order some bloodwork and refer me to Augusta Oncology. Blood was drawn on 3/28/24 at Doctors Hospital (10am) I got a next day appointment with AO. The only documents sent was the summary notes from the procedures on 3/19. The Augusta Oncology Dr. didnt walk in with a laptop. No bloodwork to reference. Complete waste of time and money. My labs drawn on 3/29 werent released until 4/1. I messaged Dr. Lals office again about concerning bloodwork and visit summaries not matching or having contradicting information. 4/3 a clinical supervisor called and said Dr. Lal wanted an additional test. I asked her if he had seen my bloodwork and how was able to send me to Augusta Oncology the previous week without ever seeing my bloodwork. She said Dr. Lal would have to answer that. She said that she or Dr. Lal would call me back that day. 4/4 Dr. Lal calls me. In talking, I asked how he was able to diagnose me the previous week without bloodwork. He said that I had a deficiency . Again, How did he know? His response was at some point it was identified by a Dr. and I was referred to him. At that point, I let him know I was self referred and that he had never seen any of my bloodwork. He did say he would handle my case exclusively. The reason the staff rescheduled my original online appointment was to see him not the NP. Especially for initial visit. This is what I learned:-The initial appointment 1/3 was a complete joke. No bloodwork done nor information on how to get prior medical records was attempted. visit summary doesnt match.-after messaging about a follow up I saw the Dr. on 3/28. He referred me to Augusta Oncology. He still hadnt seen any bloodwork. In fact, he ordered the bloodwork on 3/28 visit. Bloodwork wasnt completed until 4/1. Piedmont and AU / Wellstar usually have results that day or next morning.- I went to Augusta Oncology and the Dr. didnt even walk into the appointment with a laptop. Just a summary was sent to her. Joke. Would love to see the visit summary for that one.- DO NOT EXPECT Drs to talk to each other and definitely dont assume they take the time to look at other Healthcare organizations charts / systems. Why can the government tell you if sudafed was purchased at multiple stores, but Drs. cant see your chart from a common database? Is there no way for a Dr to do this?- turns out my iron was 29 and iron saturation was 8%. First visit 1/3 with NP not contacted until 4/3 about any further tests due to bloodwork results drawn on 3/28.-4/5 I have no answers. 2 office visits and procedures done before labs were ordered. Not even a records request for previous bloodwork.Nice people.

Dr. Lal himself is the best doctor anyone could ask for. he has been with me through a very hard journey and I appreciate him and his work at every step of the way. he is a fantastic advocate for patients and I would recommend him to anyone who needs a GI doctor. However, it is at some times nearly impossible to get a hold of anyone at the office. I called at 3:00 p.m. and the answering service told me that they were at lunch until 1:00 p.m. which doesnt make any sense. Another time I called and it was as if the number was out of service. I hope they are able to fix their phones soon so that they can be reached reliably.

After my initial appointment I was scheduled for a procedure. There was an issue with the correct codes being entered for billing and after a not so positive experience the office manager Kim stepped in and resolved the issue promptly. Dr. Lal is extremely kind and considerate and genuinely cares about the well being of his patients. I cannot speak highly enough about him!

Been a patient for about 6 years and when I first met him, he was very calm, nice and willing to really listen. Since his own health decline, hes been a little different and short. Did my second endoscopy/colonoscopy in 8-10 mins...um, yeah, no way. I looked at the clock right before they put me under and as I woke, I looked again and said no, asked the nurse how long did it take...she said about 10 mins. I was disappointed because theres no way he couldve found anything that quickly. Those procedures should last about 20-30 mins at the least. Im bidding my farewell and hope he gets better soon.

I cannot give a review on the doctor himself because i was met with very rude office service over the phone. i called to make an appointment for my fiancé and left a message on the new patient referral line. i waited on a call back and never got one so i called the office again and it went straight to voicemail after 2 rings but last time it took about 4/5 rings before i got to leave a message. it says not to leave 2 or more messages so i didn’t leave a second message. i called the office again and spoke to someone asking why i have not received a call back yet or why when i still call won’t the lady answer the phone and the person i was speaking with gave me a response of “ she’ll get to you when she gets to you “… for the field she’s working in that is not the behavior or attitude to have !! i thought i was calling a doctors office not mcdonald’s … i immediately hung up in the lady face and called the hospital back to request an immediate new referral because personally if that’s the type of employees you will hire, how do i know the doctor or other nurses in the office don’t also have the same attitude and behavior. sad to say but i never even stepped foot in this office and i already have a pretty good idea of the type of workers and treatment given from this office

I have been going to Dr Lal for over 25 years.He is the greatest gastroenterologist, we have in this town. I would not let anybody else work on me but Dr Lal. His staff is super wonderful, and caring.

Yesterday I received a call from their office after they canceled my doctor appointment later this month to get me back on the schedule. We scheduled for today at 9. I drove 2 HOURS just to walk in and tell me they won’t see me unless I’m self pay because they no longer take my insurance. They never mentioned anything about my insurance the last two times I’ve spoken to them. Not once did they offer to reimburse me or apologize for yet again another mistake on their part. Wouldn’t waste my time if you’re out of state.

I was referred to him by my family doctor, and now I wouldnt go anywhere else. The experience with his staff was comforting, the longest waiting room time was my very first appt (paperwork), he was comforting and allowed you to voice your concerns, pains, and lifestyle, such as nursing or diet, and it felt like he was not generalizing me but I was an individual patient. He did 3 procedures in my throat, due to it was closing up, and he was informative, patient, and kind through all three. I will see him long term for my heartburn issues. I would recommend anyone going to him. He is very patient and helpful regarding bill balance as well. I can not be more grateful and thankful to Dr. Sunil Lal and his staff for taking care of me, and ultimately caring for my family as well !!!

I was refereed by VA and all I can say is amazing. A true professional from beginning to end :) The staff was great and the procedure went smooth. No issues at all. Took his time and explained the entire process, again if your looking for an expert look no further.

I was referred to Dr Lal after an ER visit in which I had been vomiting non stop for 3 days. The ER doctor said he thought it was my gallbladder and set up an appointment for me with Dr Lal. I met with him for at the most 10mins in which he decided to go ahead and schedule an endoscopy and colonoscopy to see what was going on. The day of my double procedure I saw him for about 2mins before and after that I never saw him again. He told me mother who had driven me that he couldn’t find anything wrong and then left. Nothing about a follow up and he didn’t talk to me after even though I’m an adult. I called his office a week later and let the receptionist know I was still getting sick and to ask what the next step would be. I was informed someone would get back with me to set up a follow up appointment. That never happened. After another ER visit which again another ER doctor insisted it was my gallbladder, I was referred to Dr Lal again. Well nope not going down that useless rabbit hole again. I met with my GP who set up an ultrasound and then referred me to Dr Hogan. He got me a HIDA scan scheduled and within a week we were scheduling my gallbladder removal, bc my gallbladder was in such bad shape even with no gallstones. Yet Dr Lal found nothing wrong and cost me money and time. Very disappointed

I read the reviews before my Moms appointment and I must say theyre correct. Dr.Lal was great but some of his staff wasnt . My Mom was seen on Tuesday, the nurse said someone would call on Wednesday to schedule her procedure. Today is Friday and I finally get a call back requesting the name of the doctor who prescibed one of her medications. Mind you this is after Ive called the office six times.

Thanks for a whole lot of nothing! This office never even contacted me back with results of my colonoscopy! A year later my docs are having to work backwards to redo what this guy did so poorly. Most importantly after suffering for 2 years with colon problems i wasted a lot of time dealing with this office. This doctor is very indifferent towards patients and unconcerned with helping. I hope the money you make is worth the pain you have left me with. Also, is it a coincidence that only women are giving this guy good reviews?

While as of today - though Ive an apt with him we havent figured out the cause of my abdominal cramping since the end ofSept hes done every test I personally would know to do atop of several others :) Hes warm and is kind and takes the time to explain things if youve got questions about a proceedure

Don’t be surprised when you wait for over an hour in the waiting room JUST to schedule an appointment. Then, be told it’s another 2 months before an available time. Incredibly poor office management.This was after calling last week and leaving a message to be called back to schedule an appointment.

Exc Dr! Sev yrs ago after many tests were neg he had two others done and that showed I needed my gallbladder out! The best GI Dr I’ve been to over the yrs!

Dr Lal should take a good look at his front office staff! I find him to be a good physician and he had been working with me to figure out complications after procedure. I walked in one morning, FIRST THING, to see him and was told VERY RUDELY (SHE HAS CURLY SHORT HAIR AND WEARS LIP LINER) that I could be worked in AFTER LUNCH. This was after she asked the office manager, NOT THE DOCTOR. Did not even ask me what problem I was having...RECTAL BLEEDING. When I said then I will have to go to ER, SHE had enough nerve to shrugg her shoulders and say well, i guess you will have to go to the ER then. Not to mention that a CT scan was to be set up weeks before that and I was told that she never could get in touch with me. I NEVER GOT A PHONE CALL FROM THE HOSPITAL TO SET THAT UP. I WAS trying to avoid the ER Due to the COST. Getting to the point. HIS FRONT OFFICE STAFF IS HORRIBLE!!!!!!! Im in this field and you Never turn a patient away OR PUT THEM ON HOLD. THIS IS THE TRUTH.

Dr. Lal is great but as far as the answering of phones is terrible if you are in pain or sick you better go to ER! I waited on HOLD for 2 hours 48 minutes and 48 seconds this was on my cell. The recording will drive you Crazy! Can’t imagine anyone waiting for an answer on a call...

Today was my first visit at this location. I must say Dr. Lal and his office staff are the bomb. Nothing like walking up in a office and seeing friendly faces. Dr. Lal really does care about his patients. I would recommend Dr. Lal to anyone that is experiencing gi issues.
