Out of the Closet - Fort Lauderdale

I love out of the closet! On this day they were having a mega sale on a plethora of clothes in the parking lot, $2 per item. They do that every once in a while but they have the best men’s selection for a thrift store in the area. They have tons of selections especially for jeans and shirts, which are color coordinated, as well as books! It’s the best place to beef up your book collection for only $1 a book sometimes. They also have a pharmacy inside so you can shop.

Theres a section near the front that has some chromatic 🫖 and 🍵 which look pretty awesome. Gotta make the decision soon, ho we ever is is also other nice metal dining decor that may be a good setup choice for upcoming photoshoot theme.

This is the fabulous sister store to Wilton Manors Out of the Closet store and is equally as fabulous in all the right ways. OTC always has something for everyone and this location is no exception. This is my favorite thrift store. There’s always a huge selection of treasures you never knew you always wanted. Plus proceeds go to the AIDS Foundation and there’s free HIV testing. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Today I found some awesome rock salt candle holders, alligator earrings (like actual alligators not made of alligator), and an adorable dress. 10/10

Very expensive, I walked out without buying anything, but I love the LGBT+ vibe and I think the free HIV testing is amazing! I am in from out of town looking for cheap thrift options to pass time

So Out of the Closet in ft Lauderdale on Sunrise blvd.had a parking lot sale this past weekend and it had to be one of the grosses things I have seen. From what I thought was well run organization, The Manager decided to put a blue tarp on the ground and just pile clothes on them for people to ravage through. This made it look like buyers were not worthy. This manager needs to be FIRED for the less than human dignity that took place. Shame on this black eye in our community now. I will not shop there or donate.

I have donated here a few times. I believe in the cause very much but I will not ever return to the front door or the back. The rudest person came to the donation door yesterday. Friday the 15th. The person never spoke. Just frowned, through up his hands, rolled his eyes, and eventually said these words in a haughty disgruntled manner, “Just how much stuff do you have?” Actually I had very little. Two boxes. I was only nice while there. I made apologies for whatever he found so troubling. He never apologized or said thank you. I will never return. In fact I would drive 10 miles out of my way to give somewhere else. This person, if an employee, should be fired. If a volunteer, you should let them go or stuff them in a back room and give them something to do that does not require social interaction. I live very close. I plan to tell everyone to drive in past too

Really nice store! They have a good mix of Everything, including seasonal & holiday shopping. The location in Wilton Manors is nice and easy to get to as well.

I’m always searching for comfortable skirts in solid dark colors (which I never find), so I went in to take a look. They have jewelry, clothes, scarves, furniture, kitchenware… even a fitting room in the back. The staff was helpful and even referred me elsewhere to try to sell a necklace that’s a bit outdated.

This location, and this thrift store overall, is mine and my husbands favorite of all. Has the best clothes and the best finds in everything they have. Their dressing rooms have tall high windowed ceilings that you can see rainfall or natural sunlight at the top, and beautiful cushioned high chairs in each fitting room with big full length mirrors. We happen to find beautiful clothes, jewelery, purses, shoes, and tchotchkes, even specific kitchen items, all the time without fail. Top notch merch and everything is in excellent condition. Best store all around and they are beyond fair with what they price each item at, and if you become a regular theres discounts over time that they formulate. Best thrift store even among all regular high-end fashion stores.

This is a public and well traffic store, there should not be a reason the bathrooms are closed to the public. Will contact city hall to complaint about this.The employee said they are no longer available for use by the public cause they have been having problems. If this is the case than close your store. As per law bathrooms must be opened for public use in retail outlets.No excuses, I personally know the regional manager of this store abd he would never allow this. This must me a store manager bad policy. I hope this is taken care of before city hall pays them a visit. 6:15pm city hall already closed but will try tomorrow

The people who work here are very pleasant and oh-so welcoming! They have lots to choose from and items are always changing, so if you like something grab it fast! Love this place and what they stand for.. community, diversity, and (most importantly) love.

I bought 2 French champagne glasses for a dollar each. I got a nice Orange Calvin Klein shirt with minimal wear for less than $10. I got a really nice pair of pants for about $7 (that would have cost me $35 or more off the rack from the store they originally came from). This place is a treasure chest of great stuff at affordable prices.

Always find good deals. Love shopping here and in wilton manors. I find the staff to be more friendlier at this location. Plus you can get your HIV test done in 5 minutes. No hassle. Great for the community

Out Of The Closet is one of those places that makes Wilton Manors what it is. In addition to being a fantastic thrift store, with clothes for men women and children and some very nice furniture pieces, this place also serves the community by providing free HIV testing and other pharmacy services. They had a sale today so I thought why not . Nice things ~ I bought a few odds and ends . Ive been coming here since day one and never disappointed finding some goodies .

Its ok but the guys that work there need an attitude adjustment. They dont greet you at all. I went to donate and then looked around for 20 minutes. 3 guys there working and not 1 hello.

Great deals as well as providing free STI testing. The staff is fun and friendly. Pharmacy is super convenient. This is deemed a Safe Place.

Don’t shop here if you are a person of Color! Though this used to be my go to store for little Knick knacks, furniture pieces and clothing, recently I visited the Fort Lauderdale location and was completely ignored and made to feel invisible by and older white male employee. He was over invested in another white guy that was trying to haggle down the price of a piece of furniture and trying get it for a swap of his old couch. But completely ignored me that needed help and was planning on paying full price for what I wanted. I will never shop here again. Even if he couldn’t help, he could have called over someone else who could. Nobody deserves to be made to feel small or invisible.

Great selection of used clothing. With a high density of gay men in the area, you usually find a higher quality of used clothing on the racks. Staff is friendly and my purchases support HIV services.

Selection is ok not as much as a goodwill store but still good, the cashier today is hilarious just listening to all customers vent and his reactions are priceless lol love him but i guess not just passed by to look at the jewelry by his desk he didnt even said hello, ruuuude or racist lol hmmm u decide.

Sad experience.came in when homeless and requested a clean set of clothes .unlike the Miami location I was denied .was told that this location provided to a local church . was obvious that this location donated what couldnt be sold for profit .

They have fabulously wonderful clothes priced very modestly actually very reasonably and I was able to get some really nice clothes and the staff was very friendly and helpful and it was a beautiful location and there were so sweet and nice to me
