I had a wonderful experience visiting the AFC Midlothian location. I was greeted upon arrival , welcomed with warm smiles. The front staff were very pleasant. I was seen in the back in a timely manner. The back staff were very friendly, and knowledgeable. Overall a great experience. Will visit again. Thank you AFC.
AFC at Stone Village has always been great. Our family has been there a number of times. Their front office staff and nurses are always super kind and helpful. The PA that helped us today was informative and kind. If you need a doctor quickly, I can’t recommend this place enough.
A great and quick experience as always!! I’ve been coming here (at the Midlothian location) for about 5 or 6 years. I miss Dr Johnson dearly, but Practitioner Cobb has stepped up to the plate magnificently!!! The office staff they have, are awesome and swift as well, kind and professional! They took care of my needs (as usual). Thank you :)
My wife scheduled an appointment for a UTI. If you dont love sitting in a room full of sick people who arent wearing masks an hour after your scheduled appointment time while watching everyone who came in after you get taken back to be seen... go literally anywhere else.
Needed to get DOT physical. They had weekend hours to get this done as walk-in. Preset a time and showed up and after brief check-in was seen. All staff was very professional , courteous and efficient. Visit was memorable and a lot better than Patient First. Would highly recommend !
If I could give 0 stars I would. This place is AWFUL! I came in and this elderly lady was struggling to get up from her seat, had a walker. Instead of any of the employees helping her, they just sit there stare at her.Secondly, made an appointment and was finally called back an hour later. The girl doing my triage had no idea what basic medical terms were and asked me to spell them. This place is absolutely filthy, and the doctor was so rude to me. I can’t even believe his bedside manner. I came in for conjunctivitis… he said well you wouldn’t have it in both eyes if you didn’t touch it. Also, then proceeds to give me hand sanitizer saying “I could guarantee you touched it.” He began by calling me someone else’s name.
The receptionist did not act like she wanted to be there nor care of patients well being what so ever. If asked for help, she told me to do it online. Not sure, why she had a job at a window, if didnt want to help patients. Took hours to be seen because their only concern was to be paid. The nurse and Physcian Assistant that helped me was very nice.
Great as usual!!! Quick and fast! Great customer service. Definitely still miss Dr. J, but you guys are holding up fabulously!!
Online sign- up and sign - in was easy! 15 later I was walking out the door with a diagnosis and prescription treatment. The PA was friendly, courteous and efficient. Highly recommended if you need to be seen right away.
I have seen a different doctor there for treatment that retired, so i just needed medication refills. It all started with a phone call and the receptionist arguing with me and wouldnt allow me to speak to a nurse or have a nurse call me back. I ended up going there since I was out of my medication. The receptionist was rude. The nurse was nice and helpful. The nurse practioner was not personable at all. When she came into the room she didnt bother to shake my hand and introduce herself at all. She also didnt seem to want to listen as well as she should have. I did get my refills. Unfortunately, Im stuck with them until I can find another doctor.
Yesterday I visited the clinic in Stone Village Way ,Midlothian, Va and the office staff was very friendly and professional as always. I was seen by a PA J. Porter was her name and she was fantastic. She knew exactly what was wrong and had me in and out in no time. I would love to have her as my primary care doctor.
Literally cannot recall a good experience here even as a kid. From the front desk to the doctors/physicans assistants. My most recent experience the front desk was irritated that her system was not registering my twins as two people since they have the same birthday, and was making it extremely clear that this was an inconvenience to her. Then the girl who took vitals had zero patience for children. My kids don’t love the blood pressure machine and she just couldnt stand that. My kids have had quite a few sicknesses and have been covid tested multiple times so they are a bit traumatized from that not fun experience- so I asked if the prescribing doctor could just do an exam before electing to COVID test them and they all seem bothered by this. She said since they are coughing it’s our protocol. I mentioned that there are millions of other possibilities other than just COVID.Then the physicans assistant came in and discussed her concern for COVID and that’s it the season for COVID, etc. I suggested she do an exam because it could just be allergies or an ear infection, or even just a simple cold. She was shocked I said to just do an exam, she said she had to listen to my concerns first. I said they are coughing. She then was acting weird about listening to them. Asking for my permission to touch them to listen. Of course? Why couldn’t you, you’re the doctor and I’m pretty sure that’s why I brought them here??? Thankfully she listened to my concerns about not wanting to COVID test them and diagnosed them with upper respiratory infections. She apologized for the issues with everyone else and all was well.Well then the pharmacy calls an hour after we left and tells me that they don’t have the medication for one of my kids (as they only received one prescription) and goes above and beyond to look for another pharmacy that does.So at 5:00 I’m waiting to get the medications for all of my kids from CVS. They have only received it for the one that Publix sent over. I called the doctors office and the receptionist told me that they have been slammed and still haven’t been able to call in the others. So it’s now 6:00 and the pharmacies are closed and they don’t have enough to fill all of my kids medications. It takes 10 minutes to call in medications and something as simple as what the receptionist could have done.I will literally never EVER recommend this facility to ANYONE. And unless we have NO OTHER option I will NEVER return. The only reason I came here was because the Bon Secours place was closed.
No one introduced themselves. The provider (?) who saw me was rude. One of the first things she said was you cant come back here to get your stitches out. Before she even looked at my incisions told me I needed to see a surgeon, would need more surgery. It felt like I was a nuisance and shed rather not deal with me. For all I know she was a certified Audi mechanic. I never got discharge paperwork.I will never go back to this clinic! Not sure if this is typical of all AFC urgent care places, but if I dont have to use them in the future I wont
Highly disappointed with my visit. I’ve gone to AFC in Short Pump multiple times and never had any issues whatsoever. However, the staff on Midlothian…. Let’s just say they are all in the wrong line of work. No one was friendly, staff acted as if they didn’t want to do their jobs… and the NP on staff was rude beyond rude. I don’t understand why some people sign up for the jobs that they do, if they have a problem doing them. Customer service goes a long way, and I believe that whole crew could definitely take some courses on how to properly deal with patients.
I am beyond grateful for the care I received in the afc. From the moment I arrived, the staff was attentive, compassionate, and efficient. They took the time to explain my treatment options thoroughly, and I felt truly cared for by the entire team. Their professionalism and kindness made a stressful experience so much easier to handle. Thank you to the amazing afc staff for going above and beyond! Thank you Tishambay Thompson, NP!!!
The fist aid care was great greet nurse practitioner she was caring along with the staff. Rates are reasonable for non insured patients. I got the first hand treatment I needed.
The staff at AFC and the provider I saw were nice. I know it must be a grueling, busy place to work. However, the facility is truly filthy. There was visible blood on the exterior of the biohazard sharps container and all the surfaces, including the patient table, were visibly dirty.
I went there a few weeks ago and the front desk ladies were really helpful and pleasant. I was seen quickly, tested for Covid and strep and sent home within 30 minutes with a prescription. Wonderful experience.
I had a terrible experience at this urgent care facility. The staff were exceptionally rude from the moment I walked in. The service was unprofessional, and the attitude of the front desk was dismissive and condescending. After being seen, I was left waiting in the exam room for over an hour, completely forgotten about. I repeatedly called out for assistance but received no response. When someone finally arrived, they showed no remorse for the delay. This place clearly lacks basic respect and consideration for their patients. I would strongly advise avoiding this facility if you value your time and dignity.
Very fast and the staff was so friendly. The ladies at the front desk were so polite and professional….especially Nikki! 10/10 would definitely recommend
Scheduled an appointment to be seen here at 4:30 for the first time and as I was walking in to check in by the due time, I received a text that my appt was canceled because the “provider” is leaving at 5:00 and this place is supposed to be open until 8pm. Very inconsiderate after traveling quite a ways to visit the Midlothian location. The snarky front desk clerk said they are only seeing the 3 folks waiting in the waiting from. Maybe try turning off online scheduling if you have no intentions of seeing patients for the rest of the day.
I reserved my spot online and arrived when the facility opened. Everyone (receptionist, nurse, NP) was friendly, professional, and efficent. I was tested, prescribed meds for my respiratory infection and on my way with very little wait. I would definitely recommend and return for future illnesses.
I came into the clinic on Sunday Oct. 20th. I have been sick for several days with increasing fever. I was seen, but no labs or X rays were done. I was told that I had a virus and no anti-biotics would help. On Monday I called my regular PCP. I was told come in at 8:15 AM the next day. Labs were drawn and a chest X-ray was taken. The doctor told me that I had pneumonia and he was admitting me to the hospital. I spent 6 days as an in-patient, receiving IV antibiotics every day and on oxygen the entire time. I not only wasted time and money, but, if I had listened to the provider that it was a virus and I had to ride it out, I might have put my life at risk.
Why make appointments if I have to wait in the lobby for an hour with people with flu/covid?Update- the manager let me know they had some unexpected staffing issues. Appreciate the communication.
I was able to get an appointment quickly, was seen quickly, and they took great care of me. I will definitely be back the next time I am not feeling well.
Nikki at the desk was very patient and helpful even though it was busy with a lot going on. She helped me understand my payment options which really made a difference. Robin gets a mention as well for her curteous disposition while taking my vitals and stats.
Arrived for a sports physical for cross country for my healthy year-round swimming middle school daughter (because our pediatrician is impossible to get in with!) Front desk and medical assistant tech were friendly and great. Actual provider entered the room without knocking and never even introduced herself to me or my daughter. I have no clue if she was a MD, NP, PAC. She quickly glanced at the physical form and saw that my dad died of a heart attack at 44 (due to smoking and high cholesterol) and refused to see my daughter. Looking back at the form, it said to only list if under 35 so I should not have even included that in the history. Then she informs me no one in the office can give me a refund today and I have to wait for a manager. Very frustrating to pay up front for a service not received and who knows how long the refund will take. A total waste of an hour.
I pay over $2,000 a year for MDVIP and couldn’t get in to see my primary care physician. I walked in to your facility and was greeted promptly and treated promptly which is exactly why I signed up for MDVIP. You provided better service without the annual fee. Thank you
The provider and staff members were exceptionally great and I love the goodie bag I received from them thank you AFC
I would like to send a shout out to AFC urgent care and the nurse practitioner: Cynthia Robb.AFC urgent care: Thank you, for sending me a discharge letter without giving me a reason why i can no longer get any service from you all. Thank you very much! That puts a smile on my face :)Last but not least, Cynthia Robb.....:) thank you. Thank you, for not doing your job by not giving me a medical card after giving you the paper with my doctors signature. And thank you also, for telling me on the phone maybe i do need to go see a therapist. I went to another place to get a DOT Physical and the lady gave me the same paper you(Cynthia Robb) gave to me, and do you remember when you told me my doctor said i cannot be a truck driver? Well, that same doctor signed the paper :) and heres the best part:I went back to CDL school after missing 2 months!I got a medical card! And i am officially a licensed class A CDL driver!And.....i have a truck driving job! 🎉🎉🎉(thanks God)Cynthia Robb and AFC urgent care: you are forgiven. Thank you :)#ToGodBeTheGloryForeverAndEver
Such a wonderful staff! From the front desk (thank you Nikki) to my NP the care was exceptional. I can certainly recommend this facility.
The lady at the front desk was mean and condescending. She is not supposed to be doing a job in the customer service. Hoping that the management will train this people to learn to give respect to the patients and customer.Though the nurse and the NP were very nice. I appreciate the supervisor, she took time to talk to me about my concerns.
Nurse Bernadette is very well spoken and polite. Bedside manner is awesome for kids. Thanks
My first time in this state & first time at this urgent care..the young sistah with the high pitched voice & heavy makeup & lashes is EXTREMELY rude with zero customer service skills to her own kind. Watch & listen how she handles others of a different race in a more welcoming way. She doesnt need to lose her job but DEFINITELY shouldnt be in customer service at a desk or phones. Put her in the back until she receives proper customer service training! As a patient, I will not be returning to this location because of this particular employee.
In and out fairly quickly. Very professional staff. Not at all crowded.
Second time using this practice for surgical clearance, first time in May 2023 was fine. However, my most recent experience with the practice aside from the physician, David Jackson who was great, has been horrible- from billing inconsistencies, incompetence from front desk staff, and unprofessionalism across the board. Labs had to be redrawn days after initial appt, labs unable to be run by labcorp due to “frozen specimen” from AFC, no call to alert me of need for second redraw- I found out when I went to pick up my lab results. Only half of my lab results were given to me due to incompetence of the front office staff, who continued to be more unhelpful and rude with every encounter- which will result in a second inconvenient trip to the office. Highly disappointed with my experience with this practice and would never recommend.
First I made an appointment to get checked, I came in and first the ladies in the front are rude, uneducated and straight up missed informed. Second I called to try call the location and get clarification on my situation but yet I got another rude and avoidant representative. What a great way to represent a facility.
I went in a few months ago for my son who was sick. The staff members were friendly and efficient - Nikki and Yernadette were great! We were able to get in and out within an hour (without an appointment). I would recommend this Urgent Care!
The worse urgent care. I complained of a sore throat and the doctor (a Caucasian woman with brunette hair) , she didn’t do anything but touch around my neck and look in my mouth and then she tells me to take ibuprofen because she didn’t see any strep throat. Didn’t swab for anything else. Here we are 3 days later and my throat is still sore and I paid them for nothing. I came to another urgent care today and they resolved my problem and told me what was going on. I would not recommend go to another urgent care.
All the staff was helpful, friendly. The place was clean. The doctor was thorough and friendly.
Very convenient and affordable! The process for registration was super easy. We only waited for about 5 minutes to be seen.
Provider took forever to make itself present at the appointment. The purpose of making an appointment is to essentially avoid wait time; however, I spend 2 hours waiting. The place was empty, so I believe there would be no reason for such a plethorous wait time.
Anytime I can’t get right in to my PCP, I come here. I’ve only the best experiences so far. It’s never a long wait, I’m in and out.
Not very urgent! Got checked in at 12.40… at 2 pm still waiting on the doctor! There are definitely other places that can get you in sooner!
I just went in there on Saturday, June 1st and it wasn’t a good experience. When I got there I checked in and the receptionist had an attitude because I could not complete my check in process on line. Which means she had to do some work. Next the nurse called me and was very nice. Listen to me as I explained my pain. Finally it was time for the Nurse Practitioner. Very rude! Did not speak and was not professional. She had on a yoga outfit as if she just came from the gym. She was not concerned about my health as I was explaining. She had this dull look on her face as if she didn’t want to be there. If you care about your health please don’t go here. I don’t have her name but I will posted it when I find it. If you see her please leave.
I was here a few weeks ago and this is one of the best urgent care experience Ive had in a long time Dr. Johnson was patience, kind and on point. Vernadette was so nice, knowledgeable went above and beyond to help and her smile just lights up the room.
Grateful for these weekend services! Such a productive visit - the Dr. took the time to answer my questions about my positive flu test and the prescribed medications. It’s been a decade since I’ve had the flu and I appreciate AFC Urgent Care helping me feel so much better.
This was the second time I used your services, and it was consistent with the level of professional and friendly service. Crystal was very helpful with the automated sign in. Vernadette was friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Johnson was professional, and thorough, giving me a great level of confidence in the ability to alleviate my health issues. Thank you all for making this a seamless and swift service.
My recent visit was the most remarkable experience with urgent care. The front office staff not only kind and assisted me with registering (because I made an error) and corrected it for me. They were super patient. The nurse practitioner didn’t make the visit feel rushed even though there were plenty of other patients in the waiting room. She diagnosed my case, answered my questions, and explained the medication. All without making it feeling rushed.AFC Urgent Care will definitely be my go to urgent care! Happy New Year!
From the moment I walked in the door Nikki and Crystal have been a great help to me. Any questions or issues I had they were nothing but amazing and quick with helping me . Honestly 5 stars isn’t enough . They need 10 stars and a raise . Amazing customer service , I’ll definitely choose AFC for any future urgent care !
The staff was very nice and polite. The waiting time was about 15 minutesAwesome 👌
Where did Dr Johnson go???? Why cant I find out???Dr Johnson is a real pro and a human being at the same time. I started with him a year ago as my PC doctor. The whole team has been great.
Ive come here and brought my children here for many types of medical services, from primary care to urgent sick visits and have been very satisfied with the care provided. The staff here are knowledgeable and always pleasant. They also have a much shorter wait time that other urgent care centers that I have been to as well.
The nurse practitioner and assistant were great. The office personnel would not provide assistance with the check in electronic process which included taking photos and uploading an ID and insurance cards etc. This presents a challenge for individuals who are not technically savvy and they were not present once the check in process was completed.
I made a same day appointment for an urgent care visit, the website was very helpful and made making an appointment easy. As I entered I was greeted by Nikki, who was very friendly and since I was a self pay, was very informative about the pricing and process for further charges if needed. I was seen promptly and over all the staff was very friendly and helpful! I would highly recommend AFC urgent care and plan to use them in the future if needed!Catherine
Very nice receptionist and staff. Treated me well and got to know me as a person and not just a patient
Terrible experience here. Front desk staff are incredibly rude, dismissive and lazy. The practitioners arent much better; when I finally got an appointment with my GP, it turned out I had been misdiagnosed and prescribed the wrong medication. Avoid this place at all costs.
Dr. Johnson (AFC Midlothian, VA) hit a quick bullseye on my diagnostic that other specialists had failed for months. His plan was immediate and was not time consuming. It included a prescription, a short walking lesson, and unique shoe recommendation. I immediatly did all thee. The next morning my feet were feeling better than they have in months/years. He was great!
Had an appointment to complete a new employee drug screening. When I arrived I was told they could not accommodate the screening due to staffing issues. Most of the time I definitely get the stresses of staffing these days but the answer I got came with no future solution nor empathy. Unfortunately this is not the first issue I have had with this business but I will say it will be my last.Update: I came back in the morning to a very friendly staff. The process went smooth as well. But the manager, without me bringing up the prior days issues, asked me what went wrong and remedied the situation gracefully. What a tremendous recovery by this mornings group. Thank you so much!
Our visit at this facility was absolutely horrible . The self check in was so faulty -it kept kicking me out and I would have to start the entire process again -getting a code, taking my pics of driver’s license back and front, insurance card, back and front , secondary insurance/try doing that process several times /not to mention typing name, address SS number, etc -. We asked the receptionist for help and she ignored us . There was only 1ithet patient in waiting room .my husband and I so sick -we just walked out . We told the receptionist it was just too hard and we were leaving and she did not make any attempt to help us. Shameful!
AFC urgent care in Midlothian is really good. I have had bad experiences with CareNow and Patient First, but this clinic is an exception. Even though the front desk lady initially messed up my insurance verification, her colleague later apologized and corrected her mistake. Then I was called inside within 5 minutes. I was out on my way home in exactly an hour which included 15 minutes wait for the flu test and 15 minutes for confusing my insurance. The nurses, medical technicians who saw me were extremely professional and quick. I did reserve my spot online the same morning I was seen and it helped in my case. I’ll definitely go back here.Update on repeat visit - I had to visit again on 2/15/24 for the continuation of my nasal congestion which ended up being a rhinitis caused by prolonged use of nasal decongestant. I literally saved my spot 30 minutes ago online and I was seen within 5 minutes of the scheduled visit at 2 pm. The nurse was so kind and thoroughly examined my nostrils, prescribed amoxicillin. I’m thankful for their service when my own PCP’s office couldn’t find a time for me.
Very friendly staff and excellent treatment. I feel great! Thanks!!
My child have a fever and been coughing for 2 days now. Since Tylenol is isn’t helping, i decided to call urgent care around my location to see if they take my child’s insurance. I called AFC to see if they accept the insurance. Greet them properly over the phone. On the other line Crystal? She asked if how old is my child? I told her she is two. And She answered back, and i quote “we don’t do children of that age, we don’t do children NOT TODAY” (she didn’t say it in higher tone just wanted to emphasize) so? I’m confused. Do you accept to children or not? So. I as a healthcare worker, that is kinda off. Just be aware parents of babies/toddler.
$120.00 copay even with insurance. Nice place in Hell for the owners and doctors. Plus, its really unprofessional to be gossiping so loud everyone can hear.So unprofessional. Didnt ask if was on birth control or if possible be pregnant . Nor did they take temp. Then, prescribed meds that can cause birth defects and pregnancy.
This was my second time visiting this location for my three-year-old. I returned here because I had a great experience the first time, and happily had another great experience during this last visit. The nurses are exceptional and patient with my rambunctious child, and the nurse practitioners and doctors are kind professional, and also great with my child. I must share that the male nurse that brought us to the back for out visit last night was able to get my son’s blood pressure, using a blood pressure cuff for the first time ever! He has never sat still for such an event before. I was shocked and amazed. Thank you!
Excellent and quick service. After scheduling an appointment for 1:30 at the MedExpress down the road, I ended up coming to this urgent care. The medexpress was very slow. At 2:40 at medexpress, I was told I wouldn’t be seen for another 30 minutes to an hour.Came to urgent care and I was seen within 15 minutes. Most of that time was filling out the paperwork. Would recommend over Medexpress.
Quick and professional! Easy check in process and I was seen right away.
3 stars because there phones are turned off during business hours when I needed to call to update information. Nurses are nice but Doctor Johnson MD has a nasty attitude and very condescending demeanor like every one is below him.I need to change my Care somewhere else
This is the best Urgent-care facility that I’ve ever visited! It’s very clean and the staff is great. The customer service was well above average and done with a smile, plus the wait time is short. The staff welcomes you while treating you like a person instead of a number. The doctor was great as well! Overall, the experience was great compared to other Urgent-care facilities. Great job ladies and keep up the great work!!!!!
It was very difficult to get a call through into the office. The Internet site said that the office opened at eight; however, when calling, I received a voicemail stated that the office was closed. Finally someone answered the phone at 9:15. They were able to answer my questions when the receptionist came back from the hold. When I went to the office later, in the afternoon, I was greeted appropriately by the receptionist, and the nurse was very friendly. Receptionist was Crystal
Dirty, there was an ANT in the patient room they brought me back to, staff spending half the time in their break area blasting music and laughing and giggling, spent an hour waiting to be seen after being brought back to a room. Their website STILL lists them as offering x-rays even though they havent been offering them for weeks now.
Always a great experience here. Nurse Vernadette is especially kind, thorough and helpful. Her smile and warm nature make the experience of having to bring in a sick child more calming. You are in great hands with the team at Midlothian AFC!
NP was condescending and rude. Our son had a bad ear infection and she didnt even check his swollen glands. Sent him out with drops that were extremely expensive. I asked to speak with his care provider and they werent even going to let me back. Then the office manager laughed at us when we left. I will never go back there with any family member. 1 star is a gift.
I had a great experience here for my pre-employment drug screen. They are quick, efficient and very kind! 10/10
Staff were amazing! Very professional and very flexible with me.Thanks!
While the wait was long I very much appreciated my service. The medical assistant/nurse who took my vitals was very personable. I saw Dr. Johnson and he was by far the most thorough physician I’ve ever seen at any urgent care I’ve been too. I much appreciated the information he gave me and the attention he showed during my visit.
2nd time I have been here, they are fast, and with the best customer service
I came after work at 5:30 pm and was done before 6 pm! AFC always is so much faster than Patient First, I love it. There’s a lot of bad reviews online and it seems like they all go first thing in the morning when everyone else wants to go, or they don’t understand the appointment policy. The appointment is more like at a restaurant when you register for the waitlist before you get there but once you arrive is when you go in the queue. I just do walk-ins though. So I think a lot of bad reviews about this place are because people are dumb and inconsiderate of how things work. 10/10 highly recommend!!!
Doctor and nurse were fantastic. However, location was disgusting and it was very clear that it had not been cleaned in weeks/months. Was told they did not accept my insurance and was forced to pay for session upfront, despite follow-up with insurance stating that they are in-network with AFC.
A friend referred me to AFC Urgent Care in Midlothian. I was very impressed with how quickly I was seen. The staff was friendly and attentive. The nurse practitioner was patient, professional, and took great care in listen to my concerns. She went over and beyond in helping me. Very pleased with my first experience there.
You obviously have not been to an er recently. Wait time is 5 hour’s minimum. St Mary’s and henrico drs forest much longer and not accommodating. Henrico had no water or snacks, etc. Sat in cubicles in the hall. St. Mary’s so rude I cannot even express. I was there for 7 or 8 hours and finally saw a doc. When tests came back ok the doctor told me he could call a lift to take me home at 11:40.
The doctor was excellent after waiting 3 hours to be seen!!!You need some efficiency procedures so this doesnt happen! I have full blown Covid which I said checking in but waited for Dr to test! Crazy ridiculous. I stayed away from other patients but will be looking for a different urgent care for future needs. I could organize for you in half an hour!
Caring friendly staff from the minute I walked in. Check in process very easy and I was seen within 15 minutes. Nurse practitioner was knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommend this place !
Was fine. I think I may have gotten a better diagnosis than from Patient First, well see. Staff and Dr are friendly as long as you dont ask them any question. Or tell them you dont need your brain scratched by a covid/flu test.
Very polite, organized and just good people working there. Dr’s diagnosis was spot on and my bronchial infection is going away. I feel much better. Thank you
I absolutely DO NO RECOMMEND! First of all they are a private own company… at least that is what the lady advised me… meaning this will be considered out of network and will be hit with a BIG BILL‼️ When you go in there and provide them your insurance card if they don’t take your insurance they should be advised of that!!! I feel like I was cheated
Wonderful service and staff. I needed a drug screening but arrived late. They still allowed me to do it considering the urgency of the situation. I’m very grateful!
I made an appointment because I was sick. They got my in pretty quickly, which was great. They took my vitals, asked my symptoms, and took blood. After that they told me the doctor would be in soon to talk to me. This is where things started to go wrong. After waiting over an hour a doctor never came. I asked someone how much longer the wait would be and they said I was all set I could leave. I asked if they were sure because I still hadnt seen a doctor and they said yes to leave. I had to ask the receptionist when I would get my results because no one told me anything about the tests. She said they would take about 3-5 days. Over a week later I had to call multiple times because I still never got my results. After the the 3rd time calling I finally got my results. She told me everything was negative and I asked her to explain the results because no one told me what the tests were and she hung up on me. It was a horrible experience. I never got to see a doctor and I still have no idea what was wrong with me.
My daughter was feverish so we brought her in. NP Robbs ordered a flu test for her right away and turns out that’s what it was. She was prescribed Tamiflu and is feeling much better only 2 days later. Would definitely go back!
I came in there a few days ago for treatment. I must say, I was very impressed. I especially loved MeKayla. She was so sweet, patient and helpful. Thank you all for such great service/care!
I would of given this place a more POSITIVE REVIEW BUT…. I went here a few days ago, staff was alright I guess.. a little friendly. There iPad wasn’t working so I had to use the one that was in the middle of the isle with people around it, kinda awkward. I waited for about an hour no big deal. Saw a doctor and he was very nice very thorough. I left and then went to rite aid. So this were I give afc 2 stars. I went to my pharmacy maybe an hour after I went to this urgent care and they had told me that the doctor NEVER sent in a precipitation. So I was like ok.. maybe I’ll check tomorrow just to give the doctor some time to send it in. I checked back the next day because they needed an updated insurance information, okay no biggie. So I checked again with them yesterday afternoon and the doctor STILL HASNT SENT MY PRESCRIPTION OVER?! Like seriously? So I called afc and told them my situation. First off they had my birth year wrong. And then the lady told me that the doctor would send it in and would call me within 24 hours just confirm. Well my friends it’s been 24 hours and the doctor nor rite aid has even called me at all to tell me my prescription was ready. I just don’t understand how I went to an urgent care seeking URGENT care and you never send over my medication or give me a phone call about it.I will never return to this place again. Biggest wast of my damn time. Plus office staff and doctors were a little off the chain here for my taste. Sorry to be a Karen but I’m pissed. End of rant.
I took my 10 year old in cause he had a sore throat, headache, and dizzy. He has been there before. They refused my 10 year old cause I could not find his insurance card.So by refusing my son, they should definitely not have the word urgent in their name!!!!
I was amazed at the same day availability when I first made my appointment. I was not able to book an appointment with PCP until Feb, yet I had been sick since December. The wait was not long once I arrived at this Urgent Care facility. The NP that saw me, listened to me thoroughly then did an evaluation and gave me a treatment which was called into my Pharmacy before O left. Great customer from the moment that I set the appointment online until I left the facility in timely manner.
The doctor was so wonderful! He was thorough and took the time to explain what I was experiencing with my ears. No other doctor has taken this time and I have had challenges with them for 46 years. His suggestions were spot on and I feel brand new in only 12 hours! The staff was kind, courteous and helpful as well.
Highly recommend!!! All of the staff was very friendly and helpful. The nurse practitioner was very professional and helpful getting the right treatment and medication for my sons ear infection. I will definitely go back! Also, very quick getting back to be seen was a huge plus!!
I found yall on line for my sister she really loved the Dr i was going at a drs office they got baught out I had been with them for many years so i found yall im am so very happy thank you
The staff I interacted with was amazing! Raina was very personable and nice. As was the nurse practitioner (forgive me for forgetting her name) that helped me. It was a very speedy visit, but I didnt feel rushed. I Felt as though I was being taken care of properly(as one should) and listened to about my situation. Couldnt have been happier with my visit. 100% prefer them over patient first and bettermed.
This place is the best ever if you are looking for a facility to receive the best of care with wonderful respectful caring companionate staff. They made us feel welcome and answered all our questions. Doctor and nurse were very knowledgeable and treatment was awesome. After so many years with my husband skin issues already the first visit we are seeing significant improvement!!!
After going to BetterMed Urgent Care and having an awful experience, I went here a few days later to figure out what was wrong with me and am very pleased. The nurse who greeted me was Raina, and she was so personable yet professional with me and made me feel very comfortable. My doctor was Alexia, and she was so kind and informative, she knew right away what was wrong and walked me through every step they would take to help me. I will absolutely be returning to this practice in the future and I would highly recommend others do the same. Thanks guys!
Very good facility! Great staff! Front desk could smile a little more! I go there because of Dr. Johnson! He’s brilliant, caring, emphatic, and though he’s very busy, he always has a minute yo really listen! One can feel like “this is my Doc he knows me.” Thank you AFC! 🙏🏻
Absolutely the best urgent care experience I have ever had! The physician was very detailed about his examination and cared deeply about my overall health! From the first phone call to schedule an appointment, to the contact free check in process to being seen and contact free checkout process everything about my visit as an A plus! The staff were very friendly. I didn’t have to wait long at all to be seen and the staff were not in a hurry to go to the next patient and gave me the impression that they care about their patients here. I will be back as I was highly impressed with the care and services I received! The overall cleanliness of the facility was also an A plus!
Very clean, espectful, quick physical and great customer service, would recommend.
I would definitely recommend this facility. The Dr bedside manner was excellent! He was very thorough and addressed all my concerns. The front desk staff were very welcoming and professional especially MeKayla.
They’ll charge you 7x the price for medications given in the clinic. Was prescribed prednisone and they gave me 2 tablets at the clinic and charged me $40, but it was $8 for 14 tablets at the pharmacy. Absolutely ridiculous
The staff were helpful and professional! The student NP had great bedside manners, and explained my Dx and aftercare in simple terms. In my opinion , this is one of the best Urgent Care centers in the local area. I would definitely recommend this place!
Really impressed with AFC Urgent Care. I was running a bit behind after dropping off the kiddos and they were so gracious. Still was able to be seen. The service was fast, and the nurse practitioner was amazing. Highly recommend if you’re in need to be seen!
I just want a prescription refill. I started the process two weeks ago, 2 weeks before my prescription ran out, and was told to request it from the pharmacy. I did and the pharmacy sent the request to this provider. This provider has yet to still verify and send back to the pharmacy. I’ve called three times. Here is a transcription of part of the last call:“AFC: It looks like we did send your prescription to Pharmacy 1 back on [date].Me: Actually, that’s the original prescription. I found out they were closed and immediately called right after I left and had it sent to a different one.AFC: Maybe you should call that one still and see if they still received it.Me: I’m not sure why I would because I know for a fact it was sent to Pharmacy 2 after that. Because I’ve had that prescription for a month and now need a refill.AFC: OK. I suggest you call Pharmacy 1 still and see if they have it.Me: Still not sure why I would call them. That prescription was canceled. I was told originally to have the open pharmacy request the refill, which I’ve done and to have bloodwork sent to your practice which I’ve doneAFC: Have you tried calling Pharmacy 1 to see if they have it?”I just want a want a prescription refilled. Is that so much to ask? I need this prescription and now all I can think to do is go start over at a completely new PCP.
I been to this center a few times when I could not get to my primary care physician and have always received the best care. The PA and the triage nurse knows exactly what they are doing, however…the front office staff could receive a bit more training in how to be friendly, a bit more attentive when someone is waiting to be checked in……maybe give a smile and have less conversations with other staff members. Other than that no complaints here! 😊
I Went to have a physical done May 12th 2023, its been 4 weeks and still has not received it. I call every day and they will say the doctor comes tomorrow call again every single day I get the same response. Went with another person and and her physical was ready only a week ago.I spent 4 hours there the day of the appointment, (should be not more than 2) the physician was complaining about filling the documents. The medical assistant not only had a hard time getting the blood work done she tried with both of my arms, but she was also teaching another medical assistant how to do shots, I am ok with that to one point but they were acting so unprofessional making comments like I am affraid no you do it firts and many more comments. I did not write a review before because I understand we all have bad days or need to learn but at this point I am desperate. This is for an immigration physical the cost is $450.00 time is very valuable when doing immigration stuff I just wish they would consider that and tell people that they have a considerable wait of time to get results.
Dr. Johnson, the nurse, and receptionist were all wonderful during my visit on 4/16/2023. Dr. Johnson took time with me and was patient, he explained things in a clear way addressing my concerns. He is very knowledgeable and I’m grateful for him and his expertise!
I made my appt and showed up 20-30mins prior as requested. The receptionist was respectful when I spoke to her.I would agree with some of the other comments that there is an ipad for check in that nobody will tell you about unless you stand there looking clueless for about 5 minutes. I watched at least 1 person experience this, but did not experience it myself because I immediately assumed the ipad was important to touch for whatever reason I cant recall. The receptionist wasnt always at her desk, so just know that the ipad is there for check in.I was seen about 10mins after the appt time. I needed both a flu and covid test; both tests added an hour to my visit. Then, I was seen by the nurse practitioner who asked me what I thought I had. She told me her opinion and told me she will send the prescriptions. She really listened to me and I appreciate that. By the time I left, it had been a total of 2hrs and 15minutes. The receptionist asked for a review and insisted I scan and immediately review with 5 stars. I would consider visiting this Urgent care again, especially considering the last one I went to took 4hrs total for only a physical. I bet this clinic would have been faster. I recommend doing the online paperwork in advance. It made checking in easy.-Follow up: Its been a month since my last visit and today I needed to return for something else. I walked in around 11am and finished at 1:50pm. So, appointment or not, it looks to be about the same wait time. I will add that this time I saw a doctor, Dr.Johnson and he was fantastic. Very educational and informational about my needs. After sitting in this wait room for several hours these last 2 months, I would like to see a displayed waitlist for people in the waitroom. The overall wait is 2-3hrs.
Special shout out and thank you to the doctor and staff at AFC URGENT CARE! Went in nervous about an injury and left at ease and relieved. Vernadetta,Carissa, & Mekayla were all very kind and friendly . The doctor was also took a lot of time. Was very knowledgeable plus I didn’t feel rushed even though at this point the office was closed!
Top notch!!! Walked right in and took me back with very little waiting. The employees were SUPER NICE and HELPFUL and the doctor was very informative. If I ever have to go for a weekend sickness THIS IS THE PLACE I’LL GO BACK TO….GREAT PLACE!!
Don’t waste your time going here. Got an appointment due to it being the only facility with ones available. Quality of care sucks. Facility is dirty. They don’t wipe anything down. I’d say the only positive experience was getting to finally leave after waiting 15 minutes, after my initial 45-50 minutes there, for the Nurse Practitioner to finally get my notes typed up only to have them halfway done because she wasn’t actually listening to me or asking me questions about my symptoms. The front desk girl was nice and tried to help me. I never got to see a doctor and the NP didn’t listen to a word I said… I don’t even know how they are running. Just go to BetterMed.
Unfortunately, I have to leave this review as I would like upper management to be made aware of this experience. The 1 Star is for Diane, RN administering COVID testing. If I was only rating her, she would receive 5 stars for her professionalism and kindness.I had a scheduled appointment for a Covid rapid test, and was told to call the office when I was in the parking lot instead of entering the building. However, after attempting to call the office more than 10 times in a row each time I called someone would pick up the phone and hang up. I had to walk in to the office, and the girl working the front desk was not only rude but defiant. I kindly explained that I had been attempting to call in order to make staff aware that I was outside for my appointment as instructed and was unable to call in due to being hung up on. Response I received was “you’re just gonna have to keep trying to call because we are busy”. At this point, a kind employee stepped up to the counter to take my information and apologize (which she didn’t have to apologize). The front desk employee then said “it’s only 11:52, she said her appointment was at 12:20”. The second employee ignored this rude remark, which was made loudly towards me, and apologized again and thanked me for letting her know of my early arrival. I thanked her and stated that I only wanted the staff to know I was outside, no problem waiting, but that I wasn’t able to call in as instructed due to being hung up on.I work in healthcare as well and while we have all been overwhelmed with COVID, this is unacceptable “customer service”. I wish I had the names of these employees (more so to thank the second employee who intervened when first employee was blatantly rude).I would be happy to discuss this further with upper management (practice manager) if needed.EDITED 9/3/20: I would like to edit my review as the manager of this practice, Jessica, called me to discuss my concerns and was very kind and had already taken action to ensure this experience doesn’t happen again. I feel confident that this customer service issue has been handled and I would love to extend my thanks to Chenise (? spelling) and Diane, RN. Also, Jessica (manager) deserves a huge amount of praise for being so open and respectful to my concern. Due to this, I have felt it would be appropriate to change my “star ratings” and I would definitely consider this facility in the future.
Really nice people who work here, but just completely defunct operationally. Needed a time-sensitive physical form signed and Im waiting on day 10 (since the visit) for the doctor to sign the papers so I can come and pick them up. Doctor was mad when I showed up, as he didnt think he was obligated to sign off/perform physicals, as it is an urgent care place. Front desk told me beforehand that this was something they should absolutely be able to do.Wait time in the office was over an hour, and several other people in there were waiting longer and/or getting frustrated with the staff for similar issues. I would definitely not return as there is a clear communication disconnect between the expectations for the doctors/nurses and the front desk. Its also my understanding that there is one doctor at this location that seemingly most people come to see, and he is in and out.*Changed review from 1 star to 3 stars because someone from the office called to apologize, but she also wanted me to delete the review
Quick and easy registration, lady at the front desk was kind. Clean and quiet waiting area, perfect for my in and out pre surgery physical.
Refused to see my son twenty minutes before closing. No valid explanations. He had an ear infection that took all of 30 seconds to diagnose. Don’t wanna see patients? Then lock the door. The lack of empathy doesn’t belong in healthcare.
If i could leave zero stars I would . I was told by my doctor to go to urgent care as she believed i needed antibiotics right away and could not see me . I chose afc because i had been there before . Immediately upon my arrival I attempted to ask the receptionist questions, she rudely put a finger up and picked up the phone that I didn’t realize she was on. I waited patiently and she looked up at me and said what was your question, I began to speak again and she once again rudely cut me off and said “I am on the phone with the pharmacist “ I walked away because i didn’t want to cause a scene . I completed my registration and received an email that I would be seen at 3:50 it was currently 1:15 I politely asked the receptionist of that was the time Icould expect to be seen. Once again she rudely responded “yea the wait is 3 hours” I was so put off by her i walked out and chose to go to the ER instead. I under stand people are busy and medical staff everywhere are overwhelmed however no one’s should have to deal with rude behavior while they are sick and in need of care. I had no issue waiting to be seen but her attitude and behavior were gross and unecessary .
The staff was great.. The service was speedy.
It was quick and they explain everything and easy process.
Excellent and expedient service! Tessa and Katherine were extremely polite and professional. They listened and got me exactly what I needed. The check-in and check-out process was simple and fast as well. This is the best urgent care I have ever visited. It takes a QUARTER of the time Patient First takes.
I went here for dizziness and ear pain, I was not weighed or even asked how much I weighed which I found strange. My blood pressure with the nurse was high, the NP Cynthia that saw me literally spent less than 5 minutes with me, indicated I could be dehydrated or it could be the neuro virus, recommended Tylenol and sent me on my way, I said thats it? She said yes so I left. I then receive a voicemail from Cynthia stating that she wanted to talk to me about my blood pressure and that they just uploaded. You dont look at the patients vital signs before you see the patient or perhaps while in the room with them? What a joke! Im not going to call YOU back to discuss my blood pressure after it occurred to you that it may be concerning after you have sent me on my way. What a total waste of a copay and time.
No onsite imaging, regardless of what it states on the website according to the person that answered the phone, they have not had it for years.
Wonderful practice - providers have a solid understanding of illnesses and injuries. My children have been seen there for a variety of needs and they were well taken care of. Dr. Johnson is the best! Very thorough and great bedside manner.
I came on 10/27. The NP Cynthia was nice and excellent and I feel so much better already. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable with answering my concerns before I was being seen. I will definitely be back if I’m sick again.Happy Holidays..
I needed a COVID test to return to work. Everyone was booked. I called AFC Urgent care and Jessica was able to get me in same day. They were very busy but Jessica was a delight to deal with. I walked right in and she administered the test. I was in and out in no time. This place is a must of you need medical care. Jessica and the rest of the staff are honest, caring, and amazing!
Don’t bother registering online. I went to the website and registered for a visit and selected a time. First, their website asks repetitive questions. Next, there was no point in registering online. When I arrived I was told it wasn’t an “appointment” and we had to wait in line with everyone else - for around an hour. Of course, they collect their payment before telling you that you’ll need to wait for that long.
Chynna made me feel so comfortable and at ease while checking my vitals. They also had me in and out no long wait at all . Would highly recommend
Great and easy, always get my kids sports physicals here
I choose them for my immigration medical stuff I did my testing on June 7 and was told that results will be ready in two weeks. Today is July 21st I havent got the results yet. I called them and I always get same response once it is ready will call you. Sometime doctor is not in, I understand that. Time is very critical in these immigration stuff and my reports is getting delayed. If you cant handle or provide the package in time please refrain from doing immigration stuff. I was told we have only one doctor, if that is the issue please hire more doctor or at least give a exact date when will the package should be ready. Immigration stuff is already very stressful and on top if you delay the reports will make the process time taking. Please understand that it is matter of someones life and living. ThanksClarification: I was told my lab test got delayed from labcrop, Nurse at AFC was very nice and suggested to gave the call to labcorp. When I gave labcorp a call they told me they have sent it on 6/10, however AFC says they havent received it. Finally I got my package on 7/27.Suggestion: please follow up with labcorp on your own and as soon as labcorp says that they fax your results, immediately follow up with AFC.
First visit and I am very satisfied. I drove 35 minutes to this place because of the reviews. Even with all of the covid mess going on I was treated well. I had a painful sore throat with no other symptoms for a few days. I did a simple mobile application and was seen in 10 minutes. My visit took less than 20 minutes.I had medication at my pharmacy when I arrived to pick it up and I am already feeling much better 8 hours later. Great staff who listened to me and I could not have asked for or expected better treatment.
Visited for a sports physical. Easy to book an appointment. Relatively quick. Front desk and nurse were outwardly rude to myself and my daughter. Zero bedside manner. Ill go elsewhere next time.
I had been sick for 13 days and once all the cough and sinus had subsided I was still left with a horrible sore throat. I knew there was an infection that my body could not fight on its own as I could hardly swallow my own spit. I rarely go to the doctor and most of the time wait too long because I have some anxiety about going: Reluctantly I took myself knowing I needed meds. Once in the room I was greeted by the PA DR Furrow. He was pleasant enough and bedside manner was not bad. I was told that he saw nothing and that he would prescribe an antibiotic strictly due to duration of my sickness. He said because I have young children I likely just got back to back sickness. Being someone that has to be really sick before I consider going this made me question if I needed to be there and did not ease my anxiety about going in the first place. I even debated taking the antibiotics since the doctor said multiple times hopefully this will make me feel better because he didn’t really see anything. So I ended up taking the meds because I was miserable and wanted relief. Well behold 12 hours after the first dose I was already feeling relief by at least 60%. So I was right knowing my body and a doctor making me feel unjustified or wasting their time did not help the anxiety of going to the doctor. Next time I will listen to my body regardless of what the doctor “sees”.
The employees were all very nice and helpful. I will go back if I need to. I also recommend anyone who needs to get medical attention to go here. I really liked the doctor I saw. I apologize I dont remember her name. She was very nice and listened to what was bothering me. Then she checked me out, she didnt act like she was in a rush and didnt have time to talk to me. I had a very good experience. I am glad I decided to go.
I have gone to AFC often over the years and I always choose them first! I usually do not have to wait long to be seen and love the kindness of the staff.
I was seen by Dr. Moran this past Monday and my husband and I were tested on Tuesday. This location and the people working in this office were awesome. Jessica is very organized and keeps this office running smoothly. We give this office an excellent rating and recommend them to all! Happy New Year!
I was at UFC urgent care last Thursday (3/12/20) around 10am and had the absolute best experience I’ve ever had at an urgent care. I called before I came in and Jessica was just as pleasant on the phone as she was in person. Anita, my nurse, was so sweet and very comfortable to be around and Jeff, the tending physician, was knowledge and thorough. I was in and out with what I needed in less than 30 minutes! Ten out of 5 stars and a must (if you must) return! Thank you!!
Im a regular patient here for primary care since they have extended hours. Dr Johnson is great & so are Stephanie & Myosha at registration. But any time I call & RAINA answers, she is incredibly rude & unprofessional. She has forced me to make appointments I didnt need, hung up on me, left me on hold indefinitely, & attempted to give me medical advice despite not having any medical credentials. Just to get a refill of a medication, she insisted I needed blood work & my liver checked (the medication I have taken over a year has no effect on the liver & does not require regular blood work checks). I hope management will consider no longer employing her because its an otherwise pretty together place & Im certain shes lost them patients with the way she treats people. Again- Dr Johnson himself is great- good listener, cares about your concerns & doesnt rush you. Just steer clear of Raina!
Very pleasant experience, the staff was helpful and I was in and out quickly. Thanks!
I like the fact that I had face to face contact with only the person administering the test. The room was nice and clean. It was right next to the entrance. The whole process of calling the phone number, then having them send the necessary information to my cell to be completed (no personal contact). The whole process took less than 20 minutes. Great job! Thanks guys.
I have a regular physician but they were unable to see me for several days. I so appreciate how quickly and kindly I was taken care of, from the front desk staff coming around the counter to help me with a registration problem to the doctors and nurses that took care of me, everyone was kind and compassionate. Thank you!
Made a report against Cynthia and her license for discrimination.
I would leave less than one star if i could. I went in a few weeks ago and called beforehand to try and get an appointment. The lady on the phone was extremely rude to me and told me they didnt take appointments and hung uo before i could say anything else. When i got there i was asked if i had an appointment (of course i did not) and they informed me i would have to wait since i didnt have one. Which is fine i dont mind waiting but WHAT. When i was finally called back after about 45 minutes staff was extremely rude to me and kept accusing me of having an std (despite the fact i told them multiple times it wasnt a possibility) and they finally wrote me a prescription and told me i could leave. I went for a check up at my regular doctor about a week later and was informed that the medication they gave me would not even help with my issue i went in to get treated for. I also called back the afc urgent care to get the results of my diagnosis just to find out they did not even test me for what they said they were testing me for, they simply tested for stds which of course came up negative. I have never experienced a urgent care place with such a strong disregard for womens health. Unless you feel like being completely disregarded and neglected do not come here. Thanks!!
I walked in at 715pm, they closed at 8. I never once felt rushed. The entire facility is clean and modern. The best part of the entire visit is that everyone from the office manager to the nurse to Dr. Hall were just so nice! I like it when medical professionals are empathetic, dont rush, and explain things in laymans terms. Id highly recommend .
Patient mix up. I would recommend that you do NOT go to AFC Midlothian. I went to this place the beginning of this week for a sick visit. Long story short, the staff mixed me up with another patient. When the nurse was ready for my appointment, they called for, Michael. Another Michael apparently heard the nurse and went in the back with her. The nurse obviously never verified the patients information (last name, date of birth) to verify if they had the correct patient. I went up to the receptionist and asked if our appointments were mixed up, she responded, no. After 2 hours of waiting, I asked the receptionist where I was in line because I was there for 2 hours. The receptionist asked for my last name and literally told me, He is in the back. To which I responded, no he is not, Im right here. The receptionist questioned, did they not verify the last name or date of birth? Therefore, it is apparent this office provided medical care to the wrong Michael, under my file. This is obviously a concern for many reasons (safety, billing, failure to follow procedures, etc.). I emailed and called the manager, Jessica K, however, she has not responded to me (today is the 4th day). I want to make sure the other patients medical services and records are not under my file and I wanted assurance that I was not going to be billed for their negligence (and also for them to review their policies and hold those accountable). I also wanted to know how to obtain a copy of my medical records so I can review them myself (who knows what could be on my medical history now). No response. I see Jessica K. has told another person on here, I take patient care, patient satisfaction and customer service very seriously. Do you?? After consultation with other medical professionals, this is a rather big mistake they made and yet, no response from the manager. I have no idea how you think this is effective leadership or how you think this is how you manage a medical office. Your staff already admitted to me they messed up. You would think their supervisor would be professional enough to try and correct the issue or even apologize. This shouldnt have happened and I want an explanation as to how it happened, as I think everyone reading this would want as well.*(Side note: A while back, this same place billed my wife for someone elses blood work. She did not have any bloodwork drawn during her visit, and yet, was billed for it. In defense of AFC, they did correct this issue, however, if you do go here, double-check your claims with insurance!)
Ive been to AFC Midlo quite a few times for sinus infections and covid tests and the turnaround time is amazing! In and out baby! I love how they employ a mostly female staff!! Last night, I came in right as they were shutting down, and they rushed to get me in and gave me such great care and advice! I could not recommend them more!! 10/10
Went in for rapid testing. I had a great experience with the staff and efficiency of everything. Super quick and got a call within 30 minutes. I had some confusion about pricing, voiced my concerns, and had someone in management call me to explain everything very clearly and professionally. While the confusion was definitely on my end and my mistake in the end, the representative was awesome in the way she spoke to me and handled the situation. If I ever have to get tested again I’ll definitely go to AFC Midlothian.
With all of the craziness going on with Covid it was hard to find an appointment with Patient First. I’m so glad I found AFC instead. The staff are amazing and great under pressure. I feel like I was treated like a person and not just a number on a very busy day. I wish I remember the name of the people that helped me. I think Demeka was one of the people that impressed me with their care and efficiency. I highly recommend going to this clinic.
Melissa, at the front desk, was awesome. Very friendly and accommodating. Dr. Johnson was also very nice and informative. His assistant, not sure her name, was awesome as well. Great experience, would definitely come back.
I am so glad I found this place. The wait time is minimal. The staff is super friendly. The doctors are thorough and easy to speak with. I never feel rushed to explain why Im there. The facility has a great follow up routine too. They send a text message a day or two later to check on you. AFCMIDLOTHIAN: We are checking in to see how you are doing since your visit with us. Would you like someone to call you for any reason? Reply YES or NO.. Ive not yet responded YES. When responding NO, they send another message providing their phone number just in case things change. I love that!
Super friendly and professional DRs and staff.
I scheduled an appointment on line for a Covid test due to fever, dry cough, and chills. The whole staff is friendly and professional. Dr Russell Wilson was very thorough and checked me all over. He has a great bedside manner. Thankfully I was negative. Would definitely recommend them.
You’re greeted with a smile, the staff is welcoming and kind.Dr. Johnson was compassionate and caring as well!Definitely would recommend to friends and family - also, coming back for any future needs.
First visit took for-ev-er. Came in for a TB screening, a walk in procedure. Got here at 815, shortly after they opened, I was the 2nd person here. After jumping through their hoops of registration scanning in my own insurance card and id I waited another 30 minutes before anyone called me. Once called, I was in the office for less than 5 minutes to get the injection. I was charged $35 for their fee even though my copay is $30, the explanation was terrible as to why.Second visit to have the test read, Im the 2nd person in the office. Again I had to scan in my own insurance card and id. Why? Who knows. As of right now Ive been here for 22 minutes for them to look at the injection site and say its negative. They asked me for the $30 copay and I had to correct them that I had already paid and this visit was for the reading. Ill never come back here again, 0 of 10 would not recommend. Would give zero stars if possible. The lady that did my injection was nice though.
I’ve used this clinic on several occasions. All 3 Physicisns I’ve been treated by, along with the front desk staff, and the nurses have all been kind and professional. I usually schedule an appointment online. My visits are completed within 1.5 hrs or less. Easy parking area as well. After each visit I’ve received follow up text messages checking on my recovery. Very nice touch!
Dr. Russell Johnson and staff are great. I find him to devote more time and attention than specialists, which is amazing
Came into yesterday and was sick as a dog and the young lady at the front was on point they had a emergency and she jumped right in and went into action. She kept apologizing for the wait as they waited for the emts to arrive. Im not sure how you spell her name but Maesha was Awesome thanks for your help and kindness. But the provider on the other hand was very slow and trash. His assistant Kathrine was good also .
I try to avoid the hospital due to long waits and i made a great choice choosing to make a visit here. The lady at the desk was very professional and the doctor had me in and out in no time.
If I could give 0 stars I would. Do not expect to receive a covid test without paying for a doctors visit as well. The same doctor who takes quite a while to figure out how to take your temp. Furthermore don’t expect privacy while the doctor is examining you at that time. If a lady in a hoodie crashes into your room and leaves abruptly, don’t worry the extremely rude lady behind the nurses desk will give you a ghetto snicker and dirty looks when you say something about it. Turns out its just the office manager in the hoodie, no scrubs, no name tag, no badge, hair was in disarray, not a very professional appearance. Possibly why I thought it was another patient walking in. Professional attire is my recommendation for anyone in medical management, but who am I? I was a returning patient who really enjoyed this office up until this visit. Regardless, communication is horrible, service was horrible, will not be returning. I was dissatisfied with the service and became very irritated and left the building. They then asked my wife to tell me not to contact the office again. No worries AFC I will inform everyone of the level of care provided here. Would love for the real management to give me a call. My number is on file.*Side note from my wife who is an RN and was there to be seen by a doc and tested. “ The doctor didn’t even listen to my lungs.” My response “He listened to no ones lungs.” None of my 4 children’s lungs either.
All the staff were very professional, And you could feel and tell that they cared. Also they were very quick and attentive, You’re literally In-N-Out. I would definitely recommend AFC for sure. I have been there several times and every time I’ve gone I’ve had an amazing experience.
Had an appointment at 11:30, wasn’t taken to a room until 1:15, and doctor didn’t come to a room until after 2:30. There were three others in rooms ahead of us. Nobody said we are running behind or anything. Will not use again.
Respect and kindness from the full staff. Thank you for not treating me as a disease and treating me like a human being. People in Healthcare need to not be in health care if they are not going to treat you like a human. We have had diseases for years. What happened to empathy????? Again thank you for caring.Mary W.
Dr Johnson was friendly and performed a complete exam. I liked having the ability to check in from my phone. I liked having to upload my insurance card into your portal. I liked that I was able to get a rapid COVID test the same day and without waiting in long lines.
The wait time is INSANE even if you set an appointment. My appointment was for 4:40 at 4:45 a man stormed out of the waiting area bc he had been waiting since this morning for a 3:30 appointment. When they finally called my child to the back we sat and waited for 40 minutes and ended up leaving without being seen. There is NOTHING URGENT OR PROFESSIONAL ABOUT THIS PLACE.
Does a person no good whatsoever to have a scheduled appointment. If a walk in comes in a minute before you then they will get in before you even though you filled out all the forms online and was scheduled for a specific time. This is an unacceptable way to run a business. This will be my last trip to AFC Urgent Care in Midlothian, VA.
It would be very much appreciated if your employees would NOT park in the spots right out in front of the building so people that are injured or have difficulty walking far would be able to park. I have seen SAME several cars parked there every day that I am going to the PT couple doors down & I made the comment to them that I cant park close due to those cars always being there....and come to find out they are employees of the AFC, which is very disturbing to me that you would allow them to park there, and not use those spots for customers/patients!!! I actually have pictures of the same car there every time I go to that shopping center, and I know its an employee of yours!
I am so grateful to this establishment. I just moved to the area 10 months ago, and my primary doctor had no availabilities, so I went there. Turns out I had strep. The staff was super friendly and the wait time was very minimal. Plus they immediately sent in my prescription to the pharmacy and I had the antibiotics within an hour of leaving their office. I would highly recommend.
Usually, I do not write reviews after bad experiences, but this has quite possible been the worst experience with a service I’ve ever received. The doctor, Russell Johnson, for lack of better wording, is incompetent. My most recent visit he wasn’t even aware of a medication that he put me on, and then failed to tell me that a recheck was necessary for another medication and refused to refill it once I had no medication left. The front office manager will be incredible condescending regarding any issues, and she even asserted multiple times that she called me to update me only to discover they had the wrong number on file. I’ve been there numerous times and they never even had my correct number. I would rather compromise my health than to return here. Please, save yourself the headache and go somewhere else.
Great service! Very satisfiedMs. Nikki the front desk receptionist does an incredible job trying to make sure everyone is good and I really appreciate that.
There are about 15 urgent cares closer to my house than this one, but I made the drive because of the good reviews and that I could schedule online the night before. It was great, from the automated texting system to the wait experience to the providers. The nurses and MD seemed to care about the patients and helping them. You dont usually see that kind of concern in walk-in clinics. Definitely would return.
Called yesterday to talk about switching my primary care to this facility. I was put on hold to wait for 20 minutes before it disconnected me. Called back and it answered, then hung up. Called a third time and someone answered and rudely said please wait and I finally hung up after almost 10 minutes. I tried calling again today and no answer. Not bothering anymore. Ill go somewhere else.
The PA was awesome, will def come here again
Dr. Johnson is one of the best practitioners who has ever cared for my family. He is so thorough, so knowledgeable, and takes the time to really understand my health issue, as well taking the time to explain his diagnosis and recommendation. Icing on the cake is that there is a very short wait time and we are always a walk-in. Love the staff and love Dr J !!Many thanks for always being there !Susan
The staff was helpful, and courteous. Dr. Johnson was very concerned and through. I was pleased as I have only been here 12 days.
I couldnt get an appointment with my primary dr. After looking at several urgent cares near me I went with AFC. I was having what I thought was appendicitis issues, but not presenting like what Ive read about. My appt was 9/4. My white blood count was elevated, but DR Jeff wasnt sure if they could be going up or down. He gave me the option of going straight to ER or come back 9/5 for more testing. I opted for the latter & came back Saturday, my levels were higher. I also note, they were busy with Covid testing but squeezed me in. Dr. Jeff said you are going to the ER, he wrote a note & said he would check on me tomorrow. I went on to Westchester ER. I ended up having to be transferred to St Francis for Emergency Surgery for removal of my appendix.Dr. Jeff and his staff were the absolute best, I highly recommend them. I know if and when I need to I will be back. Thank you again. :)
My first time visit with AFC. Everyone in this office is professional, friendly and caring. I was very fortunate to see Dr Jeff Harrell. I am sure he scored A+ in bedside manner. He was quick to act to my medical needs. I tested positive for Type A Flu. He treated me in the office and prescribed meds to help me heal. In terms of a walk in clinic, I would highly recommend AFC TO ANYONE WHO NEEDS MEDICAL ATTENTION. I will surely see them again if I am in need. Thank you all😊
I rarely leave reviews but I have never had such a poor experience at an urgent care center. I came in to get tested thinking I had the flu. I waited about 1.5 hrs to get called back and got swabbed for the tests and was told it would be about 15 mins for the tests to be completed. 55 mins later the nurse practitioner came in with the test results in her hand. She looked at them and then said I tested positive for flu a and prescribed me tamiflu. I took the tamiflu, which made me nauseous so I vomited through the night. My husband tested positive for Covid the next day so I called to make sure I didn’t test positive for Covid instead of the flu. They then told me they read the test wrong and that I actually had Covid but not to worry that even though the Tamiflu didn’t help it didn’t hurt me to take it. So I’m out the money for a medicine that made me vomit all night for no actual benefit to me. No apologies or offers to make it right and they wouldn’t have caught their mistake if I hadn’t called them or if I’m my husband hadn’t gotten tested himself. Very poor service all around and I won’t be going back. I need to trust the medical professionals I go to.
My experience was awesome. I went in scared about getting blood work drawn, but the staff eased my mind. They are very friendly and the doctor has great bedside manners. I would definitely refer people to AFC Urgent Care.
Your staff has always gone over and behind to care for myself and especially my little boy who is on the spectrum. They have always displayed genuine concern and have gone over and beyond to ensure my son feels safe and happy at your clinic. So, thank you to your front desk coordinators, nurses, MAs, physicians, NPs and attendings! Thank you. Blessings to you all at AFC, Midlothian 💜- The Joness
Front desk woman was rude and not helpful. I booked an appointment at 4:10 on the website and got there at 4:04 and she said they wouldn’t take me back because they stop at 4. Awful customer service. They had the phones off all day as well.
Ive been to AFC Urgent Care twice now since they have been open. Both times my experience was positive. From the receptionist checking me in until I left I was treated with respect and thoughtfulness. I was surprised to be handed the remote for the in room TV so I could change the channel. I usually just read my book. I was also just expecting a postcard with my test results but actually received a phone call. If I am in need of urgent care in my future I will return here.
The worst. Left after waiting 3 hours and no Dr. went to CVS minute clinic and was in and out in 30 minutes. Tried to get my $120 up front fee back but they said I needed to call the manager. Horrible. Do not go!!!
Great experience! Friendly staff from receptionist, care partner (CNA, MA) to MD. Dr. Johnson is amazing! He’s not only cordial but also very knowledgeable and goes above and beyond to explain the rationale behind the diagnosis, prognosis and treatment to his patients. Thank you Dr. Johnson and your team for a wonderful service! Be blessed.
I really would not recommend coming here. I came here with my boyfriend to his appointment. He was put on hold over the telephone for over 15 minutes when we called to check-in for a 7:00 appointment and then after we got inside, we waited nearly an hour for him to be called back. Almost an hour and a half past his scheduled appointment time and still has not been seen by a doctor. The representative at the front desk was extremely unprofessional and rude to patients. There did not appear to be any sense of urgency whatsoever for an URGENT CARE CLINIC. Really disappointed with this practice.Update (responding to the comment below): I wish this was an error. The facility does in fact stop seeing patients and close at 8:00PM, but we did not leave the facility until after 9PM, because he was finally called back for his 7:00 appointment at 7:50PM and the doctor did not come into the exam room to see him until 8:30PM. Evaluate your staff!!!!!!!! This place is an absolute joke. Would never recommend to anyone, ever. Wish I could give 0 stars.
Very helpful - all the way around. Everyone was friendly, professional, and timely. Didnt have to wait too long - certainly better than an ER. Was able to have bloodwork and X Ray done on site. Doctor was very informative with results. I left feeling relieved and well taken care of.
Incompetent staff. Took down the wrong phone number which should have been picked up on when the registration information did not come to my phone the two times she tried to send it. So they just handed me a paper one to fill out. I waited all day for a text about my son’s prescriptions being ready and received nothing. Called up there to find out they sent it to another pharmacy many many miles away. The pharmacy they sent it to is the same one the girl taking the information asked me if I wanted it sent to and I told her no it is not that one rather it is this one, but they obviously sent it to the wrong one anyway. They said they would go ahead and send it to the one that I wanted. I inquired as to whether it would be filled and covered by insurance if it had already been sent to another pharmacy and filled there, and I was told oh yeah there will be no issues with insurance covering it. Received a text a few minutes later from CVS telling me that it was too soon to fill the prescriptions and I had to wait until a certain date because those prescriptions had just been filled today at a different CVS. Mind you, these medications are for an asthma exacerbation so they are important. I am so sorry to have inconvenienced the staff and interrupted their card game. They were so busy trying to figure out whose turn it was after we arrived and they had to triage my asthmatic child, no wonder they had an attitude with me while we were there.
Nice friendly staff my appointment was on time with no wait ! I would recommend anyone in need of care to visit !
This is a review from my moms experience. She drove 30 minutes here today to get a covid test because nowhere near her had any spots. She did this because Im immunocompromised and have asthma, so she has to be extremely cautious when it comes to seeing me. AFTER she arrived this morning for her appointment, they called her and told her the provider was sick so they couldnt test her. They also said they had another provider that was booked up. They did not offer any info on where to get a test. My mom called the front desk five times to try and figure out information about getting a test and when they finally answered they were not helpful. The excuse for not answering the phone until she called five times was that the waiting room was busy, even though there was only one person waiting. This is unacceptable during a pandemic, people are trying to stay safe and they did not call to tell patients the appointment was cancelled until after the patients arrived. They are having sick people with appointments drive however long to the office, only to be turned away after they get there.
Pleasant experience from beginning to end. Knowledgeable and helpful staff and nurses. Doctor Johnson took time to examine, explain, and answer questions. Nurse bedside manner for bloodwork was impeccable.
All the ladies there were efficient and friendly! Got in and out and felt taken care of. Definitely will come back here if I need it.
Very friendly staff, incredibly fast service and great care for my medical needs. My family and I will make this place our family Doctor. Nurse Kathrine and Doctor Johnson were true professionals.
Dr. Johnson was patient, kind, thorough and one of the best physicians I have encountered at an urgent care facility. Excellent care and the wait times were reasonable for the day after a holiday.
So impressed with this urgent care! I took my daughter in for a sore thoat and was in and out in no time!!! The staff were very sweet, funny and knowledgeable. The doctor was patient and had a great bed side manner. I definitely will take my family back to this urgent care if the need arises and may even think about using them as our primary care:) A+++++++++
Had to get my son a Sports Physical last minute and was able to go in, be seen and leave all within 25 minutes or less. The cost of their physicals were also the lowest, that I have researched. The staff, nurses and doctor were friendly and went out of their way to provide great customer service.
Never again will I go to this location. The girl at the desk is extremely rude with a bad attitude, and too interested in her phone and facetiming then taking care of patients. The second girl at the front desk did nothing to help. The short pump location is 10000 times better. Absolutely. Never. Again.
My experience was great. It was a new, clean and attractive facility. I was greeted and helped promptly and also the online appointment option is convenient. The doctor who saw me was very nice and thorough. I was in and out of there and picking up my prescription within an hour.
Probably the best urgent care visit I’ve had. The staff was so friendly and caring. They were efficient, accurate, and I won’t hesitate to go back if needed.
Went in for an ear infection. The dr did a great job and the location is great. It gets 2 stars because the front desk reps are awful, inconsiderate and clearly don’t want to be there. Also, the music is blasting which doesn’t create a great environment for someone in pain.
