RMA of New York Downtown

The RMA downtown office is excellent, just like all their locations. The staff is friendly and helpful and so efficient without making you feel rushed. In my fertility journey I’ve had to go to different locations and they all work together so well to accommodate your schedule as the patient. RMA is a community, and I’m happy to be a part of it!

I had an incredible experience with Dr. Sekhon at the RMA Downtown office. I came in uncertain about my goals and next steps, and she took the time to help me define them as well as very thoroughly explain the process to me. Throughout my experience, Dr. Sekhons team was highly communicative, informed and helpful.I was so happy with my results with Dr. Sekhon. In addition to being a great doctor, shes a kind and inspiring person, who I was happy to get to know throughout the process. Its was initially intimidating to me, but Dr. Sekhons humanity and good nature made it feel doable! Thank you Dr. Sekhon and the RMA team!

This place is awful. If I could do over, I’d definitely go elsewhere.1) as other reviewers have mentioned, you cannot reach them directly via telephone. It’s a “call back system,” meaning someone will call you, but if you miss that you’ll have to call to a central number that will port you to the original caller, only if they’re available. If not, they will have to call you back and the loop restarts. Now, if you have a real job like mine and aren’t just sitting around all day waiting to be called, it becomes an extremely frustrating and colossal waste of time. I’ve missed ~90% of their calls.2) their email communication is also poor. They send marketing emails, generic appointment reminder emails, and important emails all at once, spamming your inbox. Important info like “today you will have to go to a different location from your regular spot” is buried in useless info, wasting your time some more.3) the drs are nice but remember that you only see them for a fraction of this process. Look elsewhere.

I have been working w/ RMA and Dr. Sekhon for almost 2 years now. It was a long journey, however, worth it! The RMA team and Dr. Sekhon have been amazing in helping me and my husband build our family. They went above and beyond making sure we could get the best outcomes and making sure I had an individualized care. I would highly recommend RMA and especially Dr. Lucky Sekhon, to anyone looking to build a family or manage their fertility needs.

Dr Sekhon and the whole RMA TEAM are amazing. They are quick, efficient,empathic and extremely knowledgeable. After a few failed IVF rounds at another clinic; I switched to RMA and got pregnant immediately after my first round of IVF. I can’t thank Dr. Sekhon enough for her support and help with building my family. Forever greatful!

I have been a patient at RMA for several months and have had positive experiences with all the staff members. Dr. Thornton and Lexy have been great to work with, and I have consistently positive experiences with the receptionists and nurses, especially the nurse named Deyanira. This is my first time working with a fertility clinic and feel I am receiving good care and am always comfortable asking questions. Several friends recommended RMA and I am glad I chose this clinic. I would recommend RMA to my friends and family.

Camille Marte made my experience not only quick but truly pleasant. Her smiling face and chit chat made an otherwise mundane and nerve wracking blood draw, easy.

I had a really amazing experience with RMA, where I went through the egg retrieval process with Dr. Sekhon. Her team was outstanding throughout the process--very communicative, supportive, and responsive. I was able to start the process when it worked best with my schedule, and was done after 12 days. I went to the Madison Ave location for my original consultation and procedure, and the Soho location for bloodwork during the process. Was super easy and all of the nurses / doctors / staff I encountered were really kind. I am extremely fortunate that my experience was so smooth, and I have recommended Dr. Sekhon and RMA to many friends as a result.

Awesome team, made me so comfortable in uncomfy situations and I had a great outcome for egg counts! Highly recommend them, this crew is elite!

Really great experience. Deyaniva is truly the best phlebotomist I’ve ever had. Typically people struggle to draw my blood given small veins, but it was effortless for her!!

I love the team here! Today Deyanira M. was wonderful with my blood draw. She made me feel really comfortable and she put a smile on my face!

Dr. Thornton is great however their business operates for efficiency not human care, like the other reviews say. Their doctor and care team are unreachable through call center. Email communication is slow. Process is not well explained. Questions get lost. Was supposed to begin the shots two weeks ago according to first consultation, but they’ve kept me in limbo due to some insurance check despite the fact that I’ve paid for the procedure in full already. It feels like pulling teeth trying to get answers. They need to change their operations so patients feel treated with care and reassurance through process.

Very poor communication and organization. Start from the first appointment, we scheduled one month ahead and ended up a zoom meeting. I got two confirmation emails and a phone before the appointment, when we show up, the front desk lady asked us why we are here?! Another lady came out from the back said the doctor is definitely not here today, because today is her daughter’s birthday. We end up doing zoom meeting at their location. We asked the front desk ladies how much would our insurance cover for this visit ( we confirmed with them 3 times) They said it fully covered, we don’t even have to pay for the co-pay. One month later I received a bill that I have to pay a little ($24+) We emailed and called them, after 1 week a lady called back, over the phone she just keep saying this is patient’s response. My point is not that $24, it’s the whole RMA doesn’t operate right!! This business is for human life, it’s not going to a super market buying eggs!!Not only that, after the zoom meeting with doctor. She told me to do a blood test and didn’t get me the list what I should test. So I ended up like a stupid in front of my gynecologist. Her assistant called me during my gynecologist appointment, but one of the tests she is not sure what to test for.

Definitely impersonal, they are a large operation that prioritizes efficiently extracting money over patient care. If I wasnt a medical provider myself, I would have found my experience here to be overwhelming and scary. They immediately jumped to fertility treatment instead of offering any supplements, natural treatments, or at-home remedies, which was disappointing. They also tried to scare me by telling me that one of my lab results was on the low end of normal... and I had to remind them thats still considered normal. Then, I got a surprise bill because my one appointment was somehow billed as two appointments... and my insurance didnt cover the second. I did get a lot of good information from my visit and the lab results, but I will be searching elsewhere for medical advice that is less invasive and devoid of scare tactics.

Horrible.Lack of follow up. Inconsistent communication. It’s hard to speak to anyone as they are always taking a message to pass along. I am not someone who’s needs hand holding throughout the process but only saw my actual doctor one time. And that was during my consultation.Recommended getting my fibroids removed (inner uterine) but didn’t bother to request to remove the putter (which is bigger and increases the chance of miscarriage)During my IUI cycle day of treatment, they didn’t defrost the specimen because there was an issue. Rather than communicate I had to KEEP CALLING.I did 4 rounds of IUI all completed by someone new. 2/4 was extremely painful (it shouldn’t be. Just pressure)GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

Operates like a giant factory, very impersonal, with poor communication with patients. fwiw, i am a medical provider and not new to the hurdles of obtaining healthcare in nyc but i am surprised at the poor level of service for a cash pay procedure. wish i’d read the reviews in advance prior to my treatment here. if further treatment is needed, i will be going elsewhere.

Came here for the routine checks, glad they opened a location downtown! So much easier to get here. Thank you Aisha C for doing your job so well

I’ve had nothing but positive experiences with the whole RMA team in both the downtown and Madison offices. There is never a wait to see Dr. Thornton, whatever time my appointment is for I know I will actually see her then. She is very caring and considerate and explains everything in a way o can understand. She set up a very clear treatment plan and has been an excellent help. Her nurse Melissa Moro is very communicative and stays on top of everything. Urologist Dr. Bar-Charma has also been great with my husband. I would recommend to anyone.

Deyanira M is the person to go to for blood draws. Patient and helpful. Got lots of blood drawn today.

Very impersonal, big operation with lots of departments and impossible to get direct connectivity with a nurse or a doctor. I tried to pay for additional storage of eggs and had to call them 5x and 5 emails over the past 2 weeks and still haven’t gotten an itemized receipt from them (because the finance department is separate from storage department…)Update: Day 19 and still no receipt. Insanely inefficient organization

I went to RMA to actually track our pregnancy. We were about to start IUI and ended up getting pregnant right before. What I liked the most about the RMA location in SOHO was they were ALWAYS ON TIME for appointments which helped me get back to my job AND I felt like the doctor spent ample time with me answering my questions and providing next steps. 100% would recommend RMA in SOHO.

I tried to make an appointment after getting the run around to see if this practice took my insurance or not. I called back in to make the appointment with Dr. Kudesia but her schedule wasnt even available. I asked if there was any other physicians that I could make a new patient appointment with the receptionist directed me to the website to look at the list of physicians instead of offering another physician that could see me. I asked if they could give me a call when the Dr. Kudesia schedule would be available she stated that she wouldnt know when it would be available. They clearly dont want new patients. Very frustrating when youre just trying to make an appointment and the staff isnt even helpful.

Deceptive pricing, will not provide cost estimates over the phone

This place is awful!!! DO NOT GO HERE FOR FERTILITY TREATMENTS!! I made the mistake of doing so and I deeply regret it! They are horrible to deal with in every way shape and form. Find some other place, any other place.!! They DO NOT care about their patients, they only care about $$$$. They treat you like a number, not a person. They only see you as a cash cow!! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!
