What a blessing this place has been thru the ugliest time of my life. They truly do care about their jobs and do not judge. They go out of their way and over and above. Thank you so much for all that you do!

Very helpful ppl there especially Dr Serge the guy will do just about anything to help an addict caseworker Nicky is also super helpful however the one bad thing there is the “security guards “ they just don’t get it . You will not be warmly greeted maybe a growl or head nod “ yo go stand over there “ is commonly used as a greeting at the door

Amazing staff, amazing volunteers, amazing community resources. These people will literally care about you and for you until you can finally realize youre worth care, comfort and love. Please dont give up, go to this outreach center and they will help you with everything under the sun.

Great harm reduction program. Some of the case managers are very helpful and go above and beyond to get you the help and resources you need. Staff is friendly and they always give my dog lots of love.

This organization is one of a kind. Everyone from the security guy working the door, the receptionist, counselors and especially the nurses and doctors are an amazing comglomerent of humans helping humans. Every experience Ive had here and each interaction with those who have made it their it their calling in life to help others with the struggle of addiction has actually made me believe in the human race again. The respect they showed me brought tears to my eyes. I wasnt looked down on with disdain and given that wide-eyed all addicts are familiar with, like were just rearing to to relapse and take advantage of tax payers monies. Were people too, and when we reach out to an organization like this we desperately want to change, get better and start living in this big beautiful world again. Unfortunately, we wont all make it, but with the new types of therapy available now, we stand a chance. Find it in your heart to love us until we can finally love ourselves again.

Depending on what time you get there- determines the kind of experience you will have. In the morning- I suggest not going- however Wednesday nights they have what they call womens night- all the ladies can walk thru and get cosmetics and hygiene products. Its a fun little place to get away for the night.

Terrible place. They dont follow through with sublicaid shots, and withhold suboxone. And when injections are given there is no cleaning of the area. My personal experience with my significant other was a HUGE infection at the first injection site that had us in the emergency room.

Thos is a very helpful place they really care about life and go above and beyond what is asked of them. This is definitely a cause for change. This project program is and has helped so many people. They really need more places like this.

The people who work here are AMAZING! ESPECIALLY the nursing staff. At every turn somebody is there to go above and beyond to help you with your needs. Prevention Point is a very special place fill with staff who genuinely care. Thank you for all your service.

Prevention Point Philadelphia is a godsend!! Im in between county insurances and have been for MONTHS while also having terrible wounds that NEEDED medical attention. I did have to wait for a good bit of time but that is nothing compared to the help they provided. They treated me better than most doctors Ive seen. They listened, were compassionate, helped change my dressings, and provided as much as they could to send me on my way feeling more confident I wouldnt lose a limb due to waiting to for my new county to get my application approved! They offer sooooo many great services, unfortunately some only on certain days/times, but they are high quality work. All day port a potties are also open as businesses refuse to open bathrooms for us addicts leaving us to dirty the street. THANK YOU PPP AND ALL THE LOVELY PEOPLE WORKING THERE FOR YOUR COMPASSION AND AID IN OUR COMMUNITY ❤️🤍❤️‼️

The most generous nice great people Ive ever met I would recommend anybody who needs help with literally anything from drug and alcohol help to homelessness to go there any day besides the weekends cuz theyre closed love you guys 🥰

I have been using prevention point for over 10 + years for all different types of reasons. Seeing a doctor when I had no medical insurance, returning used needles & getting new clean ones, having mail sent there when I had no where to have mine sent, using their telephone when needed, getting free medication when really needed. I could go on & on. Its so important to have ppl like the men & women who( volunteer by the way ) who spend many hours only to help others. Thank God for prevention point & all the wonderful ppl there . 😀⭐❤️😁👍🤭

The volunteers here and the lower level employees are all really nice and they really do care about the people down there. I think some of the employees, especially the case managers have been doing their job too long and just dont care about people anymore or maybe they are burned out from caring too much. Who knows? The program does do some good stuff for the people down there and for the community!! That is just my experience!

They are helping my son get back on his feet with good advice, and proper meds, this place is a blessing to the community.. Thank you 100 times over. God Bless and keep up the great work,

Extremely helpful for literally anyone that shows up at this location for help. The staff will run outside to help any stranger. If you’re in need of services like from a place like this, they are there to help and not to judge. They save lives and I’ve seen it several times. They help the homeless with mailboxes, toilets, being totally sanitary with everything. They have just been great every time friends and I have directed folks to them.

This place is a great resource in every city theyre in. The Philly one is especially helpful cause they have so many services. Almost all the people that work there and super nice and dont make people feel stigmatized and looked down on like so many places do where it makes you feel like you cant be honest about your situation. Especially with doctors and things normally make you feel stupid for continuing doing things you know are horrible for you cause they dont really understand addiction and mental illness. So Im glad places like these exist for people to get honest help. The amount of resources they have there from the shelter to the needle exchange, food, help getting ids and mail, its really great. People are gonna use regardless, so harm reduction is the best method in such a harmful situation cause everyone is someones child/sister/brother so deserves to be able to do the best they can in a bad situation

I cant say that the atmosphere is the best but most of the staff are awesome people and many of them do and will go above and beyond to help you. They offer a lot of services and can give you a large variety of resources.

I havent taken advantage of any of the services they offer but I know a lot of people who have and they do a lot of great things for the community and are there for a lot of people with addiction and mental health issues. They are there for us even when our families arent. Thank you prevention point.

The great place for those struggling with addiction to go to they have resources for those that are ready for recovery and harm reduction services for those that are still currently using. The staff is wonderful and there are amazing volunteers and interns. This is a great place to go if you want to be treated like a human being.

This place has helped me tremendously. They continue to show up everyday and share the hope that recovery does work. I love to hear the old timers share their experience strength and hope. Of I can get clean anyone can. But you MUST IT for the mircle to work.

Staff is always really nice and professional to me. The people that come there from the streets are a different story , they are very needy and for homeless people that demand and expect ALOT. Not sure how the staff keeps their cool and deals with them. Should kick out anyone acting out like the homeless people do, would at least change their attitudes

Given the limited amount of resources that this organization has at their disposal I will give them a 10 out of five stars. Prevention Point is a gods sent! There are so many great services for the homeless, addicts and the non-homeless alike. Such as lunch on a daily, needle emergency packs of 10.and.needle needle 💉 exchange. Along.wotj a plethora of other services and help.

My sister goes here and she doing really good here the have a lot of activitys and they help you with your needs they feed you, and make sure people that have no where to go our place to get warm. Its amazing for people that what to get there stuff together

Walking by, stopped in to get a kit, and hopefully save a life.., somebody I know was o.d.ing., and I used the kit,glad to say dude is alive,THANK YOU PREVENTION POINT, you helped me, help save dudes life, and I am grateful for the program that prevention point has, in order to be able to give out life saving kits. There are many other services that are rendered by P.P. all walks of life are welcome to come over so you dont need an appointment eventually you might if you are seeing therapy or what-have-you..

The ladies that work there are so sweet and helpful. They do what they can for the means they have to help you. Treat you with respect and dont look down or talk down to the homeless

Its been a while since I have been here but they are pretty much the same. Completely understanding of your situation and accommodating of your schedule too. Id recommend it for anyone who wants an empathetic staff to help with practical matters

WOW what a joke of a program and SECURITY!!!! I will be coming up soon with a camera and a partner, I cannot wait to see if someone attempts to attack us filming on a public street. That poor SAV SAYS woman, I would have been laying people out left and right. I am contacting SAV to assist with pressing charges on the JOKES that assaulted her. You are a trash program who obviously hires TRASH and run by TRASH!!!! SEE YOU SOON :)

The first amendment enumerates the right to record in public, if you are in public there is no expectation of privacy.The Supreme Court is crystal clear about this FACT.The security guard committed strong arm robbery, staff encouraged violent addicts to act out - you people are seriously delusional and will be put in check, something is clearly wrong with PP Philly!!!!

Prevention Point is an amazing program with an excellent staff. I feel like they genuinely care. They offer so much like clean syringes to HIV testing and so much more. This program has saved my life. Without the awesome staff and this program there would be a lot more disease and issue in Philadelphia. I love PPP.

Helpful. Went for the narcon training that they offer free of charge. The opiate crisis is outta control and more people need to learn how simple it is to save a life of a suffering person. It costs you nothing for the training or the medication. The staff was very welcoming and non judgemental. It also seems as if they offer many more services for addiction that I do not know the details of personally,but there were a good many people there so Im assuming the services are needed and wanted.

Harm reduction saves lives, thanks for what you do. The government should support places like this rather than the war on drugs merry go round

This place mostly helps people that are currently in addiction or recovery. It also helps the homeless and mentally ill. Basically if you need help getting your life back or just basic nacessaties you can go to PPP.

Great program for the toughest population. They have packages of free works. Please go there if you need help with D/A recovery!! Great staff.

Love this place thet are a staple in our community ever since tbe bought the church on the ave they help in so many ways without them we would have a very bad HIV epidemic but the provide clean needles and stuff to make drug use as safe and clean as it could possibly need. They provide a mailing address for homeless we get our mail there they have a drop spot where you can drop in and seek service and help in whatever way you need it To some they enable the addict to keeo using but when you fact check they are very necessary and Ed Randell made it possible way back now he and his nonprofit Safehouse is seeking to do what Toronto did 10 years ago ... A safe injection site where addicts can use in the a place with a medical staff and without risking jail...its happening so will you help and become a part of the solution or will your lack of information keep you on the sidelines or are you part of the problem.... Lets start with our kids ask them how they feel about what the see and hear on the walk to school... Seeing someone injecting drugs right out in the open bothers me and im an addict what does it do to a child? Lets come together and find a solution for the future of our hood and our city we can do it!

Helps the community out by there outreach program also helping protect people who self-harm and give food .help the homeless to food where to shower food drives where are located and clothing drive are to save a life to reduce harm to self and where to go for shelter and if you need a identification card or social security card or birth certificate they can help you or if you need a crisis center or rehab they can assist you

What a wonderful resource for the community of addicts. Kensington really thought this one out by providing clean needles and other services prevention point is it icon in the community of people that are disabled by opiates.

The volunteers are so nice. I know others would have a bad review about this place because of what they do. But its a great service.

Prevention Point is an excellent place to find resources available in Philadelphia. Everything from case management & assistance with healthcare, outreach services, legal services, HIV & Hepatitis C testing, needle exchange, etc. To events like Womens Night & activities like arts & crafts sessions are available, along many other services & programs available to the public (both homeless & currently housed) of the Philadelphia area. They have harm reduction specialists that assist addicts find a treatment program thats right for them, as well. The value of Prevention Point, as a whole, is more than a priceless asset to the community & hopefully, theyll continue to grow & continue their great work for everyone.

So very needed, this place, this organization, these people... and yet, there are still, on occasion, rude and ungrateful jack-asses who get help of some type there. The people who help out there ...well let me put it this way: most of the time, their motives are pure and they will go one step further, above and beyond, and out of their way to answer a question or point you into the right direction

When my husband & I were living on the streets in Kensington, we used 2 always go in there 4 an alternative place 2 go off the streets, 2 get some coffee, cold water, food, clothing, showers, & were on their needle exchange program. Every Tues night was Womans Night there, where theyd really hook u up with pizza, soda, a dessert, coffee, & some1 would come in just 2 speak with us woman about certain situations or issues related 2 being out there, addicted & desprate, with nowhere left 2 go but the streets. And 4 many of us, Prevention Point really helped tremendously. U can also meet with some1 there wholl situate certain means 4 u 2 b able 2 get ur state I.d., medication assisting therapy like Suboxone or Methadone maintnance, or in pt programs. And they really do care ; which does in fact show in how they happen 2 treat u there & how much effort, time, & amounts of energy they put in 2 help U get 2 a brighter place in life. Honestly, if it werent 4 this place & staff there; wed probably never have managed 2 get ourselves off those streets & back home with our children where we belong!!

The people at Prevention Point are saving lives on a daily basis. Theyre friendly, unjudgemental attitudes make the people in need of service willing to engage. Philly as a whole, needs to take note of this place, and open a second location.

Years a go I could say they was acsualy helping people they staff then would stop being for their own self to help any homeless or addict that needed I went to prison for many years and I got out and saw what they have become everything is no they cant do it right now but a person that wants to be help has to be help when he is asking cause 5 minute later maby he has change his mind so for me no shouldnt be in their vocabulary cause later could be to late

Mobile exchange leaves when they want hours of operation dont mean anything two times I traveled an hour to get to location and no one is there,last week went to 54market 445and no one is there , even though it says 530

Gives you everything you need from Case Management Services housing shelters food fresh supplies to keep you protected from blood borne illnesses such as HIV or hepatitis C. Im sure they have saved millions of lives

Prevention point helped me get my life back if you really want help and are serious about it they will help you but you have to be willing to do the work getting clean and sober must come first no exceptions point blank if not your wasting your time and theres

I was one of the lawyers who, together with and led by persons who were users of needles, convinced the city administration to permit the needle exchange and see if it could work. Now, nearly 20 years later, it has been proven an overwhelming success.

The workers there really try and help drug addicts and the workers are very nice to everyone they treat everyone the same

Resources such as this should be the norm, not the exception. Many municipalities (even states as a whole) simply refuse to listen to science; to actually pay attention to research. Simply put, the Harm Reduction model of, essentially “meeting one where one is” rather than “imposing a standard model upon them” — it is priceless! Once realized by many struggling areas, it will be seen that there is always another way. At times, “taking another path” simply cannot occur on someone else’s terms, at someone else’s will. Folks like those here indeed understand that; the value of a Life is seen as more than simply the monetary value of that life relative to a “system,” whether it be a socio-medical or criminal “justice” system. The Life itself is what holds value. Save it. 💜

The only reasonable game around. They know that people have always gotten high on drugs, and they always will. They are there to help. They saved iv users like me from hiv. They help w hcv. Now they are saddled with overdose. The only folks working with those who use. Finally getting some recognition. Real iv users work there. Its our disease . But seldom are we allowed to work in the treatment fields. Ppp is ahead on that front too. Someday iv drug users will have important positions in the agencies that run their lives. Ppp at least lets us in the door.

Firing medical case managers for trying to unionize? And then not giving them a reason for termination so they can collect unemployment? How is that harm reduction

Helping the homeless with mail hygiene client care and mail and food distribution theyve been very helpful with navigating the homeless and transitioning them to better resources

I needed a therapist and a doctor to get on Suboxone so I could get clean. It was a great help to me. Im forever grateful!

Many programs such as needle exhange to decrease virus transmission, to a safe place that offers groups, to a community free suboxone program for low income individuals on welfare health insurance.

I understand that the staff here is doing the best they can, but this place is horrendous. The government of Philadelphia can do a lot more for this staff, who are risking there lives to help patients on a daily basis.

Great place to go to try to get yourself some help with drugs and alcohol and homelessness. Plus they give addicts free new works to us for harm reduction.
