Carter Owen, MD

Dr. Owen is just the kindest, most empathetic doctor I have ever seen in real life. She treated us like real people rather than numbers and went above and beyond to help and support us in a difficult situation. It’s so hard to find medical care that prioritizes and doesn’t treat LGBTQ+ families as an afterthought and Dr. Owen is just the opposite. The practice has taken actionable steps to make their policies and treatments more inclusive in response to feedback I provided, which is really rare. The whole staff at the Tysons office is stellar, especially Tammie (NP) and Mark (phlebotomist who seriously puts a big smile on my face whenever I see him - which is often given the situation!). Cannot recommend more highly for queer family building.

Dr. Owen is such an amazing person to have on your side during your fertility journey. She makes the effort to get to know you and your personal story. She explains everything in a way that you can really understand without all of the confusing medical terms and makes sure that you understand all of the steps along the way. I cannot recommend her and the CCRM NoVa practice enough!!

Dr. Owen’s expertise is evident. From the first time you speak with her, you know you are in extremely knowledgeable hands. However, it’s also her overall approach that includes not only being extremely thorough but she believes deeply in wellness and positivity. She has a unique way for a doctor of explaining where you stand today, what she recommends and that she will be there with you. This sincerity, warmth and brilliance is a gift.

Dr. Owen is a wonderful doctor - 5 stars. She listens, is really up on all the research, and steered us through a successful treatment. My complaints have nothing to do with her, but rather the communication of CCRM Northern Virginia. I would give CCRM 3 stars. I spent the first 4-5 weeks of my time at CCRM calling over and over, emailing via the portal and getting no response. It was disheartening and stressful. If the practice can figure out how to fully staff to their needs, I would be more forthcoming with praise.

I can not say enough positive things about Dr. Owen and the entire staff at CCRM. Dr. Owen has made our entire journey so easy and enjoyable! My only regret is that we didn’t find her sooner and wasted so much time and money dealing with Shady Grove! Every step of the way Dr. Owen and her entire staff were there to offer THE BEST care and guidance. I think every doctor needs to step foot into her office and really take note how to treat patients. Unfortunately, I recently moved 1000 miles away, but we have decided we will be flying back to continue to be seen by Dr. Owen.
