AFC Urgent Care Ballantyne

This is the best urgent care facility! Everytime I have been in there the entire staff is so kind. The doctor is amazing and the nurses are fantastic! I never feel rushed with the doctor and he truly listens to your concerns. I have always left feeling so glad I took the time to go in and whatever I was in there for I get the help I need to feel better and get on the road to recovery.

I have had one of the best experiences I have ever had going to the doctor. From the receptionist, the nurses and the doctor, super friendly, kindle, respectful, they made me feel like everything was fine and helped me with my situation. Super grateful. Highly recommended.

Nice, clean facility. The staff was very friendly and professional. Dr. Richard was wonderful. He took time to listen to my concerns and the treatment he provided really helped.The wait time was very reasonable-the best I’ve experienced so far. I was in and out quickly. This was much better than waiting hours like I do at other urgent care facilities.

They are always so kind and fairly quick even with testing. They always have availability when we need it. Love the fact that they have a set price too!!! Better than 3 to 4 times more at other places for the same exact testing.

Waiting was minimal compared to other urgent care facilities. The nurse or tech (Nick) who took me back was super friendly and asked great questions. The doctor seemed very knowledgeable. Overall, aside from actually being sick, it was a good experience!

My experience at AFC Urgent Care Ballantyne was superb. The provider treated me for an ingrown toenail. Because of my insurance changing I couldn’t get in with a podiatrist. The PA was knowledgeable, empathetic, and did every bit as good as job on my ingrown toenail as any Podiatrist has ever done for me. She also explained the process better than any provider I’ve ever had and showed me the cut out part.

I fxd my pinky finger and it went down into my hand and it hurt! The Urgent Family Care had the kindest doctor, radiologist and front desk customer service help. They treated me like family. Every person was kind, helpful and caring.

Very happy this clinic was open. Staff were friendly and helpful. The medical person saw me explained everything clearly and examined the problem. Sent me on my way with an Rx. Thank you!

I’ve had a migraine for two weeks. I was in such rough shape that I didn’t take the time to schedule an appointment and I just went to the office. Check in was quick. The staff and care providers were amazing. The doctor discovered that my migraines were being exacerbated by a sinus infection and prescribed me some meds. I immediately started feeling better that night and feel 90% better today! Only downside is, the test they ran and to be seen cost roughly $300. Nonetheless, I highly recommend this Provider! Top Tier, upper echelon care!

Very nice facility, extremely clean. Great customer service from the receptionist, nurse and doctor. I would highly recommend. I was able to get a same day appointment and felt they really took the time to hear my issues and give me answers and solutions to my problem. Quick and efficient, I was seen rather quickly….all in all was in and out in less than 1 hour.

One of the most pleasant urgent care experiences. Walked in at 8am and was in a room, examined, and prescribed necessary treatment and out by 8:30. The staff and Doctor were all very polite, friendly, and through. I would highly recommend it to others!

The staff are professional, empathic, and efficient! The care I have received here has always been delivered with accurate diagnoses and trusted medical expertise. My experience has been that patients come first; and, that is how it should be! So grateful and appreciative!

We are return customers, as we are very appreciative of the care Dr. Richard gives. He has seen my father a few times and is always kind, attentive and thorough. Also being able to complete appointments and paperwork online is appreciated.

I discovered this Urgent Care clinic through a sports physical given out by my son’s school. This has been a gem. The physical was quick and easy. Everybody was smiling from the Receptionist to the Medical Assistants.I ended up coming back the next day due to my Daughter having Strep, and they were just as nice the second visit. The Provider has a good sense of humor and is efficient. This is enter I will be going in the future.

Excellent urgent care. People are nice and polite and seem to care about their patients. This is a refreshing experience compared to other urgent care.

This is my third time visiting AFC and again I was very pleased. The staff is great to work with and are friendly and accommodating.I saw Dr Richards and again, he was thorough with my diagnosis and explanation.He truly is a great doctor!

Great Urgent Care location in Ballantyne Charlotte, NC. Everyone I spoke with were extremely pleasant and caring. I went due to breaking bones on the outside portion of my foot. The digital X-rays gave the doctor a diagnosis within just a few minutes instead of having to wait for films to process and be read. A very pleasant visit!

After a bad spill on my bike I went to AFC. The staff were all so kind. I needed cleaning and stitches and a tetanus shot and everyone was nice and made it as easy as possible. I hope I don’t need to return (hehe) but if I do need services like that, I’d definitely go back.

I woke up this morning with itchy and swollen eyes. I was a walk in patient and I was authorized by my Veteran Administration community care to be seen at AFC in Ballantyne, Charlotte NC. I was seen almost immediately. Very friendly staff and medical staff. The location is very convenient to my home address. I love the app to see where my place in waiting. I can do my check-in and registration etc from the app. I love it! Emergency room wouldve been an all day event to get seen and treated. Thank you AFC of Ballantyne!

My cat scratched my ear and had to get stitches. The staff was really nice and stitched me up quick. Highly recommend this place to anyone needing urgent care.

The wait was less than 30 minutes. Front desk staff friendly and help with a quick paper work process. Medical staff friendly, very knowledgeable, explained everything in detail, no rush, and professional. They are my urgent care office for any future medical issues.Paul Sheridan

My daughter visited last year and raved about this office. I needed attention for a brewing infection and had ~ 1 hour between calls. I was lucky enough to find an appointment when I needed it and was greeted and appointment went quickly. The provider was very personable and engaging. Listened to me and provided a course of therapy quickly   Will be my go to for urgent care in Ballantyne from now on.

I took my son to get a sports physical, and the physician that did his appointment was very unprofessional. She made an insulting comment towards my son’s intelligence. She even laughed at her own poorly made comments, which made me question her bedside manner and professionalism. I visit AFC urgent care for all of my urgent healthcare needs but based on my experience with the NP today I will not be returning.

What a terrific facility! The woman at check in was so sweet and the provider was amazing! I am actually from out of state and the southern hospitality was amazing….so thank you! Plus, I feel much better 💕

Walked in for a bite on my arm at 7:50ish, didn’t realize they closed soon. Everyone was fantastic. Very friendly. Didn’t try to rush me out the door.  Hope I don’t need urgent care any time soon, but if I do, this is definitely the place I will go.

I have been to your facility multiple times, over multiple years. Each and every time has been a wonderful experience. The front office staff is professional and personable. Nursing staff is detailed and caring. The doctors are always thorough and take time to truly understand the illness instead of rushing from case to case. This is how healthcare should be everywhere. Online scheduling and check-in was quick and easy! Wait time, with an appointment, was a little long at 1 hour. In-take nurse, Rhyad Artis was friendly and thorough. Dr. Ethan Richard was thorough in answering all of my questions with a great bedside manner. I was very impressed with this urgent care facility when I walked out of the door and even more so when I received a call a few days later to check in on me. I highly recommend this facility, even as an out of towner! Thank you!

The receptionist was not as nice as she should have been. The two nurse assistant were not great, but professional. The male practitioner displayed excellent bedside manners and showed medical competency.

Was able to book an appointment right away and basically no wait time. Service was excellent. Highly recommend this urgent care facility. Friendly caring staff.

I seen the same doctor I seen almost 1 year ro rhe sat for something different. & he was fantastic then & he is still about his business. I wish he had a practice I would be his patient. If you are sick Dr. Richard is the one to get you better. ND the staff is great.

Everything was almost perfect at this visit. I did notice we came at a good time after checking in ahead of time, because it started to get busy so it might not have been the same experience had we come later. We waited a little while longer than I thought we might given that nobody was there but it was fine. Everyone was SUPER nice and friendly so nothing bad to say about that. The resolution and diagnosis was a little fuzzy for us so the after steps we werent really sure about. There were some technical issues so my little toddler got fussy while waiting which did give some distress but they were really apologetic and tried to do what they could to help meet our needs and calm the little one. I felt very cared for just wish we had better answers on diagnosis. The after care was excellent, they had someone call the next day to check on us and a couple days later as well. So I cant say enough about their loving care they took here.

Went in for a continual cough.  Was able to get in quickly. The staff is exceptional.  I was given an xray, diagnosis determined, and I was on my way with prescriptions.  Probably the best urgent care I’ve ever been to hands down and I live in Massachusetts!

I have always had a positive experience with AFC, particularly this location. The staff are nice, attentive, and work well with children of all ages. We use this location often for urgent care needs! T

AFC Urgent Care Ballantyne is very thoughtful and helpful. They follow up with you about the reason for your visit and seem to really care about their patients! We also have never waited very long at all when going, which is definitely a plus- highly recommend!

Everyone was so nice. Did paperwork on line and it was so easy when I got there. Clean and up to date! I definitely will go back if I need an urgent care again!

I came by online appointment ... at the reception I was forced to first install the application on my phone and when it didn’t work, I filled out the paperwork during my toddler asked help. The appointment was for the three-year-old child, he cried and complained of pain😡. All this went on for an hour. I asked to first go to doctor and then fill out the paperwork ... but bureaucracy were more important than the appointment of the child😡. No complaints about the doctor.

I love how all staff treat me at this urgent care. Most medical staff in urgent cares, primary care, and ER treat me with condesencion and are dismissive of pain or worry, but AFC staff always take the time to speak kindly and with empathy without long waits or making me feel rushed.

Everything was great except for some reason no one could figure out how to bill my insurance plan so I had to pay cash for my visit. If I hadn’t been in an incredible amount of pain I would have left and gone to one of 5 Atrium Urgent Care locations within 5 miles of this one.

In all fairness, we were the only patients there, however, the staff was very friendly and professional, and the waiting area very clean. We were in and out quickly pretty quickly With a diagnosis and game plan!

Its the only Urgent Care that Ill go to. Dr. Richard is great. If only they could clone him 😉 From the receptionist to the assistant to the doctor. Everyone was friendly & made you feel comfortable. Dr. Richard took his time with me. Not only did he handle my current issue but he also asked about the issue I had last time I was there. Very positive experience, especially when youre not feeling well. And thanks for the follow-up phone to check on me.

I returned from Europe and wasnt feeling well, and I needed to see a medical professional. I was able to go online and easily make an appointment at AFC. I was quickly seen by a nurse followed by a PA. I was diagnosed with a respiratory infection and was prescribed medication, which they had called into my pharmacy. I was very pleased with the service and attention.2 days later, I was surprised to receive a call from AFC checking on condition. I havent had a treatment follow up call for a very long time.I would use this AFC again and would recommend to others.

Great facility. Scheduling was easy. Appointment times available. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Facility is sparkling. Quick and efficient too. I don’t feel like I was hanging around endlessly in a lonely room. Will definitely go back!

The staff here are always amazing! Whenever I can not be seen at my primary care I always cinenhere. The doctors listen to my concerns and offer reasonable solutions. I also appreciate their patience when I come with all four of my children. Check-in is easy, especially when you do it online before you arrive. Overall the care here is top notch, I would argue better than some doctor offices and especially better than the hospital.

I scheduled online to walk in. I waited about 10 mins and was seen. Doctor was thorough and I was out in about 30 mins!

On May 13 my wife saw the nurse practitioner for an infected bug bite on her arm and was prescribed10 days of 100 mg doxycycline hyclate, 2X per day . The provider could not remember what my wife’s blood pressure was but did not retake it. She also left the room without wrapping the bite but after my wife said something, came back in and wrapped it. The next morning the arm was very swollen so we removed the wrap. The drug caused a severe reaction by the second day so my wife called and was told she should take it for 7 days. After 3 days my wife called and was told she could stop the drug. Today is May 26th and she still has a significant rash on the arm. During the visit the practitioner seemed to be unaware of what she was doing and more or less out of it. She way overprescribed a very strong antibiotic which, as noted, caused a number of side effects including nausea, diarrhea and the continuing rash on the arm. I strongly advise avoiding this urgent care.

Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff. They work quick and efficiently. We always go here for our UC needs even though it’s a bit of a drive for us because it’s worth it!

I am from MS and am visiting family for a few weeks. My throat became moderately sorealong with fatigue and headache.After a week of hoping it would go away, it didnt. Looked up surrounding walk in clinics online, read the reviews and decided to try AFC Urgent Care.I filled all paperwork out online,arrived at the location, was checked in, diagnosed by Dr. Ethan Richard, prescription called in and out the door all within an hour. The office staff were all friendly and the office itself was very neat and clean.I highly recommend AFC Urgent Care to anyone traveling from out of state.

The front desk staff was outstanding with Geri gs and a smile and assisting with online check in. Very efficient. The nursing support was wonderful. Smiling, efficient, kind and considerate and extremely knowledgeable! The physician was outstanding! Friendly kind greeting, listened intently to my concerns, Exam, Post care recommendations and Feedback outstanding! Efficient yet thorough! 5 starts+++++!

I cut my finger which needed stitches. The team was amazing from the front office staff to the clinical team. The PA was so nice and professional. Very clean, bright and modern clinic. I definitely recommend AFC Urgent Care.

By far the most efficient and caring facility for my urgent care needs. The staff and doctor on call were all wonderful. I was miserable and they were empathetic to how I felt, did all needed tests to diagnose my illness and explained everything to me before I left regarding test results and prescriptions. I am glad to know they are there when I may need them again! Top notch!

Both my son and I were very comfortable and happy with the care. My son is very uncomfortable with going to doctors/urgent care- but the folks were super nice and made him feel at ease.

We have used this AFS Urgent care center twice and both times were timely with no long wait and the treatment was excellent.

We waited almost 20 minutes to be seen but the place was empty and no one was being seen. There was no one ahead of us. We were the only ones in the waiting room. Not sure the reason for the hold up but it always seems to take long to be seen here no matter if you are the only person or one of many. Other than that it went just fine.

Great staff. Everyone was kind, professional, respectful and informative about my condition. I was quickly tended to by the receptionist, nurse, NP, and X-ray tech. The X-rays were read quickly as well. AFC Urgent Care Ballantyne was the best Urgent Care experience I have ever had by far. I highly recommend this facility. I suggest utilizing the preregistration option. It’s super easy and quick to fill out. It was encouraging to know that they were ready for me when I walked in the door. I was also given the address to the closest pharmacy my insurance used to pick up my prescriptions! A big bonus for this Charlotte visitor.

First of all, let me say that I had a 10a.m. appointment and was checked in and with nurse within 5 minutes of arrival. This facility is bright and clean. Staff is very friendly, patient and personable. Time is taken to fully understand your issue and outcome is clearly explained. If ever needed, I would definitely come here again with no hesitation. The experience was fantastic. I came in from out of state and slightly injured myself, which scared me. However, from the moment I walked in, I was welcomed by the most excellent and friendliest front desk receptionist. The wait time was less than 5 minutes. Once in the back, Medical Assistant Kiara was incredibly attentive and patient with my care. I was then seen by the nurse practitioner, who was extremely thorough in my examination and had the best bedside manner. She clearly communicated her findings and what I needed to do next. In addition, the X-ray technician, Diamond, was such a delight to interact with. She, too, was thorough and handled me with such care I felt safe and taken care of during the x-ray process. The entire staff was amazing. Each of them gave me the care and personal attention to my issue that I needed. This experience truly changed my perspective of Urgent Care. Thank you ladies!

UPDATE 08/09 visit - Over 2 hour wait for a 5 minute visit. Very understaffed for a Saturday and it wasn’t even that crowded. Didn’t get a feel of my usual AFC warm touch with this visit unfortunately. Not sure I will be returning.Excellent service - wonderful staff that gets you in and out. Wide range of medical issues and services with insurance coverage. Have always been in and out of this facility promptly always feeling taken care of. Highly recommend!! 5 stars to the team!UPDATE: had occasion to visit them multiple times over the past few week for my daughter (flu) and myself (sinus infection) and all I can say is they are AMAZING!! Right from Maya at Reception to Timbra the Nurse to Dr.John. The level of care, diligence and follow up is phenomenal. I would take them any day over the hassle of trying to get an appointment with the PCP with their ridiculous wait times. I’ve never had to wait more than 15-20 minutes tops to be seen. They always call 2-3 days after the visit to see how the patient is doing. Very thankful and grateful to have them in our corner for our location!!11/14/23 visit - this place continues to impress. We’ve been here multiple times for different family members since the last review and they never disappoint. Quick in and out, great treatment options, always treated with courtesy and respect - right from the reception to the nurse, RN and doctor. Thankful to the AFC Ballantyne team. Chest pain due to anxiety and stress. Best experience with this site. Truly friendly and empathetic staff. What doctor ends the appointment with a hug? This one did. It was very much needed.

All employees were very caring and attentive to my needs, especially Richard the doctor.

Everyone was nice and the building was immaculate but there was a lot of loud laughing/teasing while I waited over 20 minutes for an x-ray. I was one of the last appointments coming in around 7pm on a Friday night. The waiting room only had one person in it when I arrived. Im not against anyone having fun but it just wasnt a professional feel while I was waiting that long just to be taken to x-ray. I thought they forgot about me! There were no other patients in sight once I finally left.Kaitlyn, who checked me in and out, gets 6 stars!

My experience at this urgent care facility was phenomenal from start to finish they provided ultimate care and showed great concern.

Ann and Dr. Richard were great! Very thorough and addressed all of my questions. I wasn’t certain what to expect, as urgent care clinics vary in quality and level of service, but I was delighted with the service and care I received at AFC!

I was there for 3 1/2 hours and there was only 1 other person there! Thats a long time when u are not feeling well!

People are nice and all the process is smooth. I feel quite comfy.

As a walk-in late on a Saturday, the AFC Urgent Care was welcoming and efficient. I was in and out in less than 45 minutes which was quick since there were three others ahead of mean hour before close. Dr. Richards diagnosed and had me on my way quickly. All of the staff were great!

Thankful you were open Sunday to treat my conjunctivitis. The staff was very pleasant, helpful and everything was spotlessly clean. Definitely will use this facility whenever needed.

Last time I went, I didnt make an appointment and waited for an hour to be seen. This time I made an appointment and still waited an hour. (Whats the point)? I was seen by a PA for an acute sinus infection which Im prone to. She did not examine my ears. She did not palpitate my lymph nodes. She did not examine me at all except to listen to my chest. Previous time the Dr. gave me a full facial exam. Shouldnt a PA do the same?I was given 3 scripts. Pharmacy was out of the good cough syrup and contacted the AFC clinic for me while I waited for a substitute to be submitted. Still waiting on that 5 days later. Called AFC on day 3 (weekend) and was told a Nurse would call me back that afternoon. 2 days have gone by....no call. To say that this is grievously unprofessional in the medical community is an understatement. Very, very poor medical service.

Every time I come to this location I always cross my fingers and hope Dr. Richard and Ann are there. They always brighten up my day which is always so nice when typically I’m coming in for illness or a shot. Ann is so talented and gifted with people. I always get my questions answered and the help I need when they’re in the office.

Dr. Roberts was very hands on with his diagnosis , the nurses were respectful , front desk staff was very nice & inviting. Wait was not long , a great atmosphere for someone who’s not feeling well. I would definitely recommend this urgent care for your urgent health needs.

Accepting that medicine is not an exact science and the common cold and viruses cannot be cured, I will say that this clinic was professional and caring and efficient. As a retired nurse myself, I think thats the best review I can give. I was relieved to know my Covid and flu tests were negative and grateful for the prescriptions I received to treat my symptoms.

Good morning, everything went very quickly. Thanks to the staff. Especially the girl at the reception.

They were super nice! They weren’t busy at all. That was the fastest, easiest, but well done sports physical we’ve ever had. She checked her for everything. We were in and out. I would definitely go back and recommend to anyone. Health insurance doesn’t cover sports physicals and this was a cheaper route than PCPs.

I was seen everything was fine until It came time to get my medicine. Called for 3 days trying to get them to fill the paperwork needed from my pharmacy for my insurance. They refused to do it and didnt even offer to alternate with another medication that didnt need authorization. Manager didnt come to the phone, nurse was rude and hung up on me trying to transfer me. Should have went back to visit the one closer to home. Very disappointing experience when going through something you needed medicine for.

Kaitlyn was so pleasant over the phone as I inquired about their services. When I got there she was just as pleasant and had a smile on her face. I watched how she interacted with other clients and she was very sweet.

Made an appointment, showed up to an empty waiting room and was greeted immediately. They got right to testing and was in and out very quickly.. Even with an x-ray. Everyone was very nice and professional. I would very much recommend! I haven’t received the bill yet but Im sure I won’t like it as much as the service that I received today!

The staff from start to finish were friendly and professional. The medical provider was very thorough and compassionate with the amount of pain that I was in. It would be nice if they had more providers though. Total time there was 2 hours and there were 2 in front of me when I arrived.

Everything is good but Urgent cases need urgent attention. There is lot of time to register and check in.

No waiting, be friendly and helpful front desk. The nurse who took my vitals very efficient and sweet smile. The doctor also was great.

I was able to book an appointment the night before. Arrived the next morning. Was greeted by a friendly person at the front desk. Check in process was done mostly online the night before, so it was easy to check in. When I was taken back to be seen I felt like I was actually heard. The doctor didnt discount anything I had to say. I didnt feel like I was being rushed out like Ive felt at other urgent care places. Overall I would highly recommend using this Urgent Care location in the future.

I visited AFC urgent care Ballantyne for complications with my asthma and was seen by Dr. Okwara. She was wonderful, caring, and thorough with my concerns and treatment. Everyone I interacted with was kind and professional, including the x-ray technician, Amanda, and the woman at the front desk whose name I didn’t catch. My wait time was no more than 15 minutes on a Saturday morning.

This is one of the best Urgent Cares Ive ever been to. The whole staff is incredibly nice. And they truly care about the patients here. Checking in was super fast and easy. I really appreciate everyone here. The doctor was able to answer all my questions and concerns. Really great doctor.

Dr Richard was amazing, again, and even recognized us from our previous visit!Had a wonderful experience at the AFC ballantyne urgent care, given the circumstances for arrival. From the front desk staff, to the nurse and the doctor, everyone was extremely pleasant and thorough. We didn’t feel like just another quick face they were seeing and pushing back out the door. Will be very happy to return for future needs!

Great staff (office, nurse & doctor)!! My daughter was sick with the flu and they were so patient & kind. Yes, the wait was long but having a friendly staff and great visit made all the difference. Their app was really helpful for submitting forms and checking on the status of the wait, too. Glad we made the 30 minute drive from Rock Hill.

They were not helpful in my case, I lost my voice and had issue with my throat they only told me oh it’s an allergy, charged me 70$ plus my insurance to see some nurse practitioner just to look at my face. They don’t even have a live doctor at the office. I think this office is good for a minor issues and if you need more professional help you should go to ER.

The staff was great! It was a BUSY Saturday, and receptionist set the expectation for the wait. The nurse was very sweet with my daughter and put her at ease. The DO was also very knowledgeable and supportive with my daughter and her medical history (chronic strep throat).Being patient and understanding of the wait made our experience pleasant.

Wait time was over an hour due to how busy it was but it was worth the wait. The front desk clerk was very kind and apologized for the wait. Dr Klein was very nice and funny. He spent his time with us and made my child feel at ease. I would definitely recommend AFC Urgent Care!

Ridiculous manager, front staff and nurse practioner. They are there only to make money. No concern about patient. HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT GOING THERE AND SAVE YOURSELF TIME AND MONEY AND GETTING POOR MEDICAL TREATMENT. This was my first and last time here. I dont think these people understandthe meaning of Urgent Care. Zero sympathy towards patients.

Used this location for sports physical. Online appointment process was easy. Upon arrival check in was easy & pleasant. Called back within a few minutes of checking in. Nurse & NP both very nice & efficient. Clean & pleasant facility!

Update: we had an another visit and again just couldn’t be happier with this facility. Everyone is very friendly and professional. The in/out was efficient yet not rushed. I always feel everyone there is invested in my family’s health and cares for us overall. Couldn’t be happier. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️This is one of the cleanest, friendliest facilities I’ve ever been in. I felt truly heard by the nurses and Dr there. My reason for going was resolved with the utmost care and professionalism. I could not be more thankful for the services and care provided.

I have been to multiple urgent care walk in clinics over the last year and this has been the best experience Ive had. Everyone was so nice and pleasant, especially Dr. John, who really went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and to meet my needs. I felt like I was being treated and respected like an actual human being instead of a number. Id recommend this location. It was an easy in and out with little to no waits. Thank you Dr John for your kindness! Reminded me of doctors of old who are more personable and in tune with their patients.

It was a great visit. I broke and badly sprained my toe from sport and the staff was very nice and helpfull. From Cindy at the front desk, to Ann the assistant and Camaro??(sorry i forgot her name, she was the funniest of all.) the lady that did the xrays, to Molly the attending physician. Thank you for a great experience. They were also very funny, i was laughing the whole time i was inside. Really helped me get my mind off the pain i was going through. A very good experience all in all. Yeah, i had to wait for a bit, but not that bad since it was just a walk in. Thank you for your care ladies!!

This is the way Urgent Cares should be. It was clean and I was greeted as soon as I walked in. The staff was really great and the doctor was wonderful. They really listen and I didn’t feel like I had to rush to tell them everything.

Everyone I came in contact with was courteous, knowledgeable and very professional. Plus they provided excellent and thorough care! I’ve been to several urgent cares, and they are definitely the best!

Best urgent care I have been to since moving to the Charlotte area 6 years ago! Fast, efficient, and very attentive care!

I was able to get an appointment quickly online and fill out paperwork in advance when our primary had no sick visits available for my son. They ran a flu test (positive) and had us in and out in a very reasonable time with a Tamiflu prescription given which significantly reduced the duration and symptoms for my son (still miserable for two days but better than a week!). Both our doctor and nurse were friendly, communicative, and thorough. Great choice when you need to be seen right away!

From check in to walking out the door, I felt taken care of. Very friendly staff and super quick service (care) - thank you!

Would highly recommend because of the Doctor as well as the other staff. Went in without an Insurance but staff was very polite and clearly presented information about upfront costs. The staff were so friendly and welcoming! They went above and beyond to give me the meds I needed instead of sending me on my way with a Covid diagnosis. The wait time was very short and they even called a few days later to check on me to see how I was feeling! Highly recommend!

Well… I thought this was going to be a great experience but it wasn’t.The facility is very clean. The front desk is nice. The medical assistant was nice.Then came the Nurse Practitioner. She walks in, introduces herself & instead of talking to us as the parents, she proceeds to ask our teenager what is wrong & how long has it been going on. Teens don’t remember yesterday & have no concept of time so we spoke up. She then asked if we wanted our child swabbed for COVID. This means she didn’t get a report from the medical assistant & didn’t choose to ask before coming into the exam room. She leaves & then comes back to ask if we want our kid swabbed for strep throat. I said does it look like he has it? She says no so then I said I don’t think it’s necessary. She proceeds to look in his ears, feel s on his lymph nodes in neck, looks in ears, asks to look back in throat & then says well. I said are you going to look up his nose to possibly rule out a sinus infection since he is so stuffy & has post nasal drip? She then decides to look up his nose & says it’s red & inflamed. I am going to treat him with an antibiotic & steroid for a sinus infection. Had I not said anything, she wouldn’t have done it. Fast forward to today when he went to his pediatrician’s office because he is still sick & he was misdiagnosed. It’s a virus that is currently going around that is not COVID & not the flu. We will NEVER come back here or refer anyone to this location. And what is even more worrisome is the fact that I was pulled out of the exam room to ensure that we were willing to pay for any/all testing.Save your $ & go to a Novant Urgent Care.

Unable to see my primary care doctor right away, I went back to AFC. They are very efficient, and very informative. Came in with a lower abdominal pain and Nicole quickly diagnosed my problem and sent me on my way. They can do lab test right on the site which speeds up the diagnosis.Overall, great experience. 😀

Went here for pre employment testing. The staff were great. They were seeing a lot of patients while trying to help me( winter and sick time). I had issues with paperwork and they went out of their way to help get the right stuff and were very friendly. They sadly dont have enough help but thats the story everywhere especially in health care. They were doing everything they could do though to make sure everyone was seem as efficient as possible. Had a very good experience even though it took a while.

Overall the experience was good. The staff were courteous and professional. My one issue is that the NP initially said they were not going to do an x-ray. I had to request that an x-ray be done to rule out a break or fracture.

The staff was great, very friendly. The office was very clean and the wait to get into an exam room was short. The doctor was helpful and friendly. Only reason for not giving it five stars was that my prescription was called into the wrong pharmacy and it was a little bit of a hassle to get it transferred. 4.5 stars would have been more accurate.

I’ve been to this Urgent Care twice and it’s always been a good experience. The staff and doctors are very comforting, attentive, and helpful. Couldn’t thank them enough for their help.

They dont perform cortisol injections or any injections into joints here. Be warned if you have shoulder issues, stay away. The visiting DR was such an jerk with so much pride and ego and zero empathy or actual care provided. Clearly this guy needs educated in compassion and does a horrible job representing your wonderful staff and location Ive had such great experiences with prior to today!

I went to AFC with a very sick 5 years old , the staff was amazing and the service was fast. My son threw up in the middle of the waiting room and I was very impressed with how it was handled by the lady at the front desk.Mona did a great job explaining what is going on and what to expect.2 thumbs up to a great team 😁

The staff here are very friendly and accommodating. The wait time was short. They even called to follow up with me and see how I was doing a couple of days after my visit. If I have to go to Urgent Care again, this will be the one.

Had a great experience at afc urgent care in Ballantyne. Came in on a Sunday and staff was very kind and got me in and out very quickly. Amanda was very friendly and Dr Ethan Richard attended to my needs above and beyond.

Great doctor, takes his time and very informative. The nursing staff did a great job with my daughter who was screaming over taking a strep test! This visit, I was checked in very quickly, by a very sweet and knowledgeable lady. She helped me through any questions I had. Once in the back my vitals were taken quickly and professionally. The only issue I had was the wait times I had in between the nurses, and doctor to return. Speaking of the Dr. , she was amazing, very professional, courteous, and willing to answer my questions. Kudos to Dr. A Jackson. You were great!!! And your staff!

Great urgent care! They have a wonderful website to pre-register before coming in. Our wait time was very minimal compared to others. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They were quick but I did not feel like they were rushing us out. I would highly recommend this place.

I love the efficiency of this location. I am always able to reserve a spot online and be seen in a timely manner. The front desk staff are informative and nice. This visit we were triaged by Nurse Davis, who was thorough and my son loved her. At the end of his appt she presented him with a bouquet of lollipops she had taped together, and he felt like the coolest little guy ever. Dr. Richard remembered us from previous visits and made my son feel very comfortable during his exam. This urgent care is my go to for sick visits.

Everyone was so kind and helpful. David was our nurse and he was so great! Our doctor Ethan Richard was very clear with the explanation of what was going on with our daughter’s foot. The care was wonderful! We will definitely go there again!

We always receive excellent care! The online check in process is so convenient and although you cant reserve a spot we have never waited long. They have been great with our toddlers.

Visit this location after not feeling well and the staff was amazing! Preregistration was easy. Once arriving at the location the receptionist, nurse and NP were all attentive and listened to my concerns. I was seen by John Bethune, NP and he explained everything to me step by step as well as explained the after care. I would highly recommend this location and staff!

Amazing! 5 stars all the way. Brought my 4 kids in for sports physicals, I had appointments for two of them and added the other two at the last minute. We waited a bit due to an injury coming in and needing to be seen before us, which was totally ok. I was super impressed with all the staff members at the clinic.

We have been to this site 3x for Covid testing. We always have no problem getting in quickly, the staff is friendly and efficient. Dr Richard is great. We were there again for X-rays and once again the staff was fantastic. It was nice to be at an urgent care that was able to do an X-ray and set up a temporary cast until we can get to the specialist.

My experience was quite satisfactory. I was seen promptly. The staff was very proficient and professional. The Dr was great and prescribed the right medicinesI will go back

I had a sinus condition and I was able to get in there within an hour after I logged in online just to sign up. The woman at the front desk did a great job as well as everybody else there very professional and I would recommend it to anybody

The wait for all urgent cares was anywhere from 2-8 hours the day I visited AFC. They were so kind, apologizing for the wait, which actually was less than expected. Professional, care for the patient, and detailed in the treatment provided describes my first visit to AFC. I wish this team could be my primary care team! I will use them again for sure.

Friendly staff, easy to use online check in and they had me in and out in half an hour. I would recommend this place to anyone and will be using it again in the future. This is the first good experience I have had at a doctors office since before COVID.

Very clean, professional and attentive. Only reason I did not give a 5 is because I was in the waiting room after my X-ray for about :50. But every one was very thorough and kind.

Went to this locations for x rays due to shoulder pain. Staff was friendly and Dr. Atkins was amazing! Was in and out in less than an hour. Prices are reasonable for self pay patients.

The PA (that I’ve seen twice now - John Bethune) is fantastic. Pleasant, approachable, knowledgeable and extremely thorough. The nurse was awesome and friendly too. The only reason for four and not five stars was due to the receptionist experience. VERY unfriendly - to the point where I wanted to leave and just go to another urgent care location. Other than that, the experience with the facility, the PA and the nurse was excellent.

The staff was very friendly and compassionate. I didn’t have to wait very long and the Doctor seemed genuinely concerned for my well being. I will definitely use their services again.

This is by far the best urgent care around. The MD and NP at this location are fantastic and go above and beyond to listen and thoroughly explain everything. My mother in law was having medical issues while visiting from out of town. Walked up to the urgent care not knowing what to expect. We were warmly welcomed by David and Lalah. The were quick and extremely knowledgeable about the next steps. We saw a Doctor John who was patient and understanding. I will always go here first because of the genuine customer service I received. Thank you team for really making something scary and stressful, a absolute miracle. Tonya up at the front was very welcoming and kind. Ann was very kind, spirited, and willing to learn above and beyond what she’s expected. John was very kind and through, made sure to explain my follow up procedures multiple times so I understood. The facility was very clean and well kept.

I am so frustrated with this company! I visited in September and paid my urgent care copay of $25. However, I keep getting bills from their billing department for an additional $75 because someone there submitted the visit under a “specialist doctor” code with my health insurance. I have called this location multiple times and was promised it would be rectified. I have also called the billing department directly multiple times, held for seemingly hours and also told by multiple agents (Sean, Cherry, Mei - reference #012523) that it would be corrected. It has not, in fact, been corrected. I am now forced to pay just so I can be sure it doesn’t go to collections or some ridiculous like that. I will choose to go elsewhere in the future.

Was in quick (was there for a dog bite). Staff were very very friendly and empathetic.. the nurse was the bomb that helped me out, and the NP that I got was Awesome. He was funny and super smart. Answered all my questions and then some. Definitely would recommend!! 5 ⭐️

This was my first visiting this location and I truly respect any Health Care Providers like myself included. I went there because Ive been exposed to covid and I tested positive but due my professionalism Ive been fully vaccinated and boosted as well. My only symptoms Ive is flu like symptoms and theyre not life threatening. Unlike my client his is more complex than me. So this Dr. Ethan here at this location is totally awesome and he told me what to do and so forth. So I wasnt be rushed for anything and I truly respect and grateful for each and every staff that listened to me. Thank You AFC Urgent Care in Ballantyne NC

I was seen the same day I called. Staff were friendly and infection control procedures were excellent (Covid 19). The physician correctly and quickly diagnosed the cause of my earache and prescribed oral and topical medication that alleviated my discomfort the same day. I would not hesitate to go there again. As a visitor from out of state, it was reassuring to get first quality care so easily. Thanks!

This place is wonderful! Everyone there was truly fantastic. My daughter and I were exposed to Covid and she was presenting symptoms, we went in to get tested. They were so kind, patient, sympathetic and showed the utmost professionalism. The best part for me was that everything was electronic! No paper forms to fill out to then be rekeyed but someone with risk for human error and then having to properly dispose of sensitive and private information collected on paper. They have tablets for those who can’t use their phone too. Just a great experience overall. Such a nice hidden gem to find and convenient to get to.

I had an ear ache. Nurse practitioner John checked and discovered a wax buildup. He and nurse Ann cleaned the wax out. Then discovered ear was swollen and irritated. He gave me prescription for ear drops. He explained over the counter DeBrox to keep ear wax cleaned out. Very friendly, knowledgeable, skillful, and compassionate. They told me to see my regular physician if issue isn’t resolved. I am so glad that AFC made it possible to walk in without an appointment. What a gift!

Pretty efficient and thorough Doctor and nurses. Didnt let me leave till fever subsided. Very good experience once I entered the office. Experience is far better than other urgent cares in the area - not sure how they are able to do it.Only thing is the online booking does not reflect the real wait time even if you have made a reservation. So plan accordingly.

I was actually on my way to a different urgent care when I noticed AFC. The facility is very clean. I noticed that most patients check in and then wait in their cars until texted to come in. The receptionist kept each patient updated as to when their turn was, how refreshing. Everyone I encountered there was pleasant and professional.

They were the only place taken walk-ins, they are under staffed yet still very professional! If you go here in which I would suggest you do so as everyone is super nice, helpful, even the manager was bring patients back and triaging over the phone. They are a great team and I highly recommend them. Super clean. With the COVID pandemic it extremely busy at every location so be prepared to wait as that is expected everywhere you go. From the MD. Dr. Richard, to the manager Leslie, the back staff, to the front staff were very sweet and helpful.

AFC does not schedule online so that leaves plenty of real time openings. I was in and out in an hour along with many other people there with me.
